Actually the blacked out version of the Inspiration limited edition (500 units) was made in 2019.
ОтветитьI replaced my old and proven 4runner Sport Edition 2006 V8 (240K miles and I bought brand new in December 2005) with new to me LX570 2016 (57K miles, one previous owner) in early February of 2023. I absolutely love it, although I will be replacing stock 21" wheels with 18" wheels, more suitable for off-road driving, I do not do off-roading just for the sake of it, I just want to access remote rough trailheads for climbing and hiking, and just being there.
ОтветитьI have an 04 LC and I think it took until this generation (16+) for the 200 to catch up/surpass the 100 series. If/when mine gets totaled I’ll end up with a 20/21 LC or LX (still unsure).
ОтветитьSo I have a 2017 LX, and I bought it certified with all the options save for the wireless charger which I put in myself.
I do wish I waited for a 2018 model that was fully loaded, but you can't pick and choose all the time. Reasons being: 2017 still had the 3G modem, so due to the 3G shutdown the remote start and connectivity options are shut down with no option for refit. The 2018s also introduced a new paint color for white that is more up to date (eminent white over star fire pearl), and finally the 2018s and up got a new license frame surround with LED backup lights that don't glare on the backup camera. That part alone is $1500 and I worry it won't have the same electronic hookups. I have refit mine with an Ali-express license frame special that mimics the 2018+, but it's a shame to do that on what used to be a six figure car.
The LX600 is smaller in every way inside, and no option to move the 2nd row back and forth like in the old one. I also would miss the split tailgate, that's useful at rest stops and beach trips.
Don’t get me wrong, GX has its place, but that is nowhere near the LX…PERIOD and after experiencing 2 Series 200’s, I would never buy one. LX all day for me.
ОтветитьGreat review
ОтветитьDream Vechicle
ОтветитьLX or GX take your pick you can't go wrong with either!!👍👍
ОтветитьI believe the 2016+ torque number is a typo. It should have read peak torque of 403# ft at 3600 rpm. The literature for the 2008-2015 LX570 states the peak torque at that rpm. 90% is available at 2200 rpm. Other advantage of the 2016+ 8 speed is the lower gears when off-roading on your 1st, 2nd gear when compared to the 1st gear on the 6 speed. LX570 official tow rating was changed around 2010/2011 (no 2012 year model) to 7000# even though the setup is the same as the 2008-2009 models. It has to do with the heavier weight of the LX570 vs Land Cruiser 200 (which has a tow rating of 8500# and is about 270# lighter). The extra weight take away from the vehicle payload, thus reduce the tongue weight (from 850# to 700#). The 200 series Land Cruiser/LX570 AHC (hydraulic suspension) can handle the weight without issue. For legal reasons, Lexus has to reduce the official tow rating in the 2010+ models when compared to the Land Cruiser 200 due to the weight differences. That said, there are plenty of folks who have towed 8000#+ with their 2010+ LX570, some even augment the rear with heavier duty springs. Google i8hmud for more details. Only real downside to towing with the LC200/LX570 is the short wheelbase compared to a full-size pickup truck. Aka, I wouldn't really want to tow anything longer than 27ft even if the engine can handle it. Also for those lamenting the lack of technology (wireless CarPlay/wireless Android Auto) on any year of the LX570, there are plenty of aftermarket kits ($600ish) that you can easily add and still retain your OEM functionality (AC control, outdated Lexus maps. Lexus Enform (who still use this?), info screen, etc). Wireless charging pad can also be added to earlier LX570 models since there is a space in front of the shifter for it.
ОтветитьNot sure where to put it so Merry Christmas Kevin I hope you have a great day with your family
ОтветитьHow is living with the seemingly universally-hated infotainment system with the joystick control? Cross shopping this with a 2016-2020 Land Cruiser, which has a more normal interface; LX seems to be cheaper, surprisingly. Is the joystick really that much of a downside?
ОтветитьNothing but respect for the LX570. I sat in one the other day. A '21 and still commanding $90k. Yeap that pearl white is an amazing color.
ОтветитьKeep up the great content.
ОтветитьI having looking for one but the 20/21s with 30 to 50 thousand mil the asking around 90k
ОтветитьI purchased one of the last 2021, LX 570 is an eminent white pearl fully loaded with every option except the entertainment center center and the parchment interior. I really wanted the black interior but beggars can’t be choosers. I owned a 2018 GX 460 luxury build it was beautiful but just not enough room, I will say I think it drove nicer than the 570 but it’s 1000 pounds lighter my LX 570 is 6200 pounds but it has room for my four German shepherds anyway this was an outstanding video I’ve been waiting for you to come out with this for a while and it was worth the wait I want to ask you a question about the LC 500 convertible when do you think the last year it’s going to be made I live in Texas and they are telling me 2025 will be the last year of the LC 500 if you can please do a video on the 2024 LC 500 convertible I’m going to wait for the last year of that to come out but I don’t know what color scheme I want to go with inside and out. I am leaning towards all black interior and the black convertible top but I don’t know which color to go with maybe the white metallic anyway fantastic video looking forward to the LC 500 video on the convertible, merry Christmas and happy 2023 to you and your family…

If you want an LX get an older one💯💯the new ones aren’t worth what their asking in my opinion
ОтветитьI put 10k miles on my 2017 had my first hiccup I can’t control the passenger side window from the drivers side. Not everything is perfect but man do I love 200s. I cried the day I sold my 2015 LC and will never let this one go
ОтветитьI want one!! Doesn't matter what year!!
ОтветитьThanks Mr Lexus!
ОтветитьThis is a stroke of genius. With new car prices spinning out of control a good solid used, may be the best option. I'm certain there are some good deals to be had. Additionally this gives us a look at how much better made some cars were made just a few short years ago.
ОтветитьBeautiful! I hope to be in a position in a 5-6 years to buy this gen or the current gen GX.
ОтветитьLove them, want one, might get one if I can get my bride out of the RX, so far no luck.
ОтветитьI had to get the 2021 LX570... the last year of the V8. I am a former GX owner having owned GX470 and then GX460 for 13yrs. LX is on a whole different level of comfort and engineering. One other small change worth mentioning is that starting with model year 2019 reverse lights are LED whereas on 2016-2018 they are halogen.
ОтветитьI sold my 19 LX for a 911 and I missed that feeling from day 1. Now I am adding another LX to my fleet
ОтветитьI wanted this originally Kevin but it had a 40k+ Premium over the GX460 and i was planning to park it on the street so i chose the GX
but when i sat inside it @ the dealer i could tell it was solidly made
its Extremely Plush inside
the LX is an exceptional vehicle
This thing is properly expensive now. Before that, it was sort of affordable for upper middle class people.
ОтветитьThe 6000lb tax exemption is for GVWR not vehicle weight.
Ответить👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
ОтветитьYo bro
