well, I have been on a quest for answers digging through materials from Jung, edinger, von franz, upanishads, rumi, neitzche, goethe etc.. very extensively.. wall of books and even mythic paintings on my walls... it was an experience of message, not listening to message, very disturbing splitting of personality or dissociation - acting out like an attorney one moment and like a little vulnerable kid next, projections onto others, synchronicities all along, paranoid delusions and eventual hospitalisation for psychoses, depression or dark night of the soul until some big steps & introspection. Guess u cud gather why I needed answers. All the searching over months and months and here it is so aptly revealed. Thank you. Only if I could ask where or how I could get any printed or otherwise material on it. 🙏

It is hardly a surprise that the mind reacts to societal impingement on the survival instinct.

Great video my trickster tends to play out through my defenses as I'm aware that allowing myself to be playful as a foolish person sometimes is healthy as I can conditionally accept all configurations of who I am.

This video made me think of Machiavelli's journey through history, which led to his writing of The Prince to convince others to allow their trickster to come into their consciousness and act out on it to gain power. The trickster tends to expand and play out through trauma and neglect I believe and then lead to hubris behaviors in us all.

Can an archtype visual imagination activity on the father archtype transform him into the fool archtype? Bcz i was later picturing the trickster trying to trick me

I dont know if anyone has seen the David Lynch movie Lost Highway? It explores the issue of delusion and there is a figure called the 'mystery man' who makes contact with the main character. To all appearances this figure seems malevolent, taunting, creepy, but his actual function in the context of the movie is to bring the main character out of his delusion.

I'm continually surprised by how little I know in relation to how much I thought I knew this is like the third time I've watched his video and only now are things clicking. Like other said I am by no means slow or dull but don't feel bad if you don't get it or at least she's scratching your head

So you are in homeostasis, then you live your life, you get insecurities, and other stuff...then puf there is a complex.

Then complex pushes you away from homeostasis, and the unconcius pushes in to get the balance on.

Complex grows in your ego -persona, your concius life, while unconcius pushes in.

The concius mind feels the uncounses going in, fears its instictivly, o its gonna take it over, and resists, becouse uncounces whants to stop you and make you resolve the problem, and get back in balance with it self.

Complex then gets energetic boost from uncounces... and puff its made into a Trickster, that fucks us up, and we are unaware of it.. becouse its outside emergy morfed with your inner shedow complex!
And So, you have to fight your shadow- insecurities, to win the trickster eventualy and get into right homestasis?

But if we are aware of the tricster it helps us overcomming it.
And by that tricster is the part of collective shadow, par of the unconcius?

Is that how it goes?

I can relate to it's "destcructive" nature a lot. But somehow there is a method to this "destruction", I can feel the events of the last 3 years are grinding away a lot of inflation and false belief. There is a saying "sometimes things have to get worse before they can really get better", and the way you explained it, the trickster is the executive psychological force that brings about this getting worse (but to finally get better in the end!)
With the final goal of liberation of the soul, the "real you", conciousness itself.. whatever you may call it.
Really hard to see at times, but sometimes stuff like a toxic relationship really is the best healer out there in order to put one into place. I think the cultivation of humbleness is some active counterfunction to the trickster events. That's what it brings about in the end.. Humbleness, and a sort of healthy devotion to the forces greater than us, to make space for them to work through is. We (the ego) are but figures in a play, but we are not the player. The Soul, Self, ... is the player. If the ego starts acting by itself on levels that are the greater power's domain, the trickster kicks in to clear the path. Cultivation of humbleness (to a healthy degree though, in terms of showing responsibility in form of an excuse of one's own misdeeds towards others for example) is serving the same purpose as the trickster does.
Responsibility brings about internal growth and the trickster brings us into that direction.

As someone who’s archetype is the trickster this was an extremely accurate description of how it begins to manifest. It really will betray and deceive it’s host with pretty much no regard to the consequences just to get its point across to the ego. You’re not in control here and everything you’ve believed is a lie. Now what are you gonna do. Cope

The trickster relies on the complicity of the "I am" and will always rule ultimately the outcome of the self until the self's orientation is realized. Don't think you know yourself as of late. That is the dark wish of the trickster, that bitch of the shadow. Forever accept the question, "What, where , and when am "l"?, for "l am" is not yet done becoming. Hold your judgments until you finally meet yourself. That is how you can avoid the embarrassment caused by the foolishness of the prejudice inherent in the ego.

I think the Trickster archetype reminds us of not ignoring the various details surrounding a particular situation like analyzing Pros & Cons; the aspects of our self we're about to work out as well as the ones we're going to ignore; the values, norms, and virtues we're either about to exult or betray, and most importantly, what are we going to become if we are given such a big responsibility like a leadership position, a government desk, or managing a corporation. Whatever we despise in others; it may become manifest in ourselves.

Really enjoyed the parallels between medieval gestures and their relationship to giving bad news to the king and the way the trickster speaks to the ego instead of the self

Fresh and clear

This is so fascinating, in 2012, i had a HUGE thing happen to me.
I won't get into details, but, with what happened to me, i did also start getting Gnosis of the Trickster and also Emptiness (Buddhist, Taoist and Hindu concepts of Emptiness, or, Sunyata, as well as some Christian mystics talked about it and what Rumi sometimes talked about too). 

I won't get into details either about this, even though i could get more info out of it if i did say more, to help relate all this together.... but, it is too personal.. 

Anyway, the equal armed cross is very important to me, it was given to me, as a symbol relating to me... i mean, the most obvious meaning of the equal armed cross, is balance. There is more to the symbol, but... would you say, the equal armed cross is a good symbol relating to the Trickster, i mean, from what i have gathered from this video, the Trickster is wanting a form of balance??

Also, quite a cool related aspect, some Tricksters in myth are related to four way crossroads.
Hermes, Papa Legba, Baron Samedi... maybe more too. The symbol of the equal armed cross.

Oh yes, i also had a lot of synchronicity and poltergeist activity during that time... still do, but, not as much, however, i usually see angel numbers every day, and rarely, but still do, have poltergeist activity..

this is really good and i love it. i wish there were more efforts to flatten out the language, as you have said, for regular people. If an elementary school kid cant understand the concepts, then the presenter may not be fully acquainted with it either

I met the trickster in his realm during an enormous shroom trip. I’ll never forget how terrifying he was at first. He was me then took off his mask and it was him then he laughed and danced around and gave me a weird smile. Then told me to stop being afraid and forced me to look at him and started morphing into this digital type of being. I then wasn’t afraid and was able to open my eyes to him and myself. So much more happened during this time. After I came back to life I have never been clearer for about a year. May need to go back and talk to him again soon. I don’t rlly know how else to describe the experience

I know indeed this trickster are archetype has been a steady energy in my life up til now, I’m just trying to get a full understanding, so that I can accept it for what it is.

A former coworker told me that he once saw a swarm-like cloud that flew behind a building and disappeared. He seemed mystified by the memory. The same guy told of vomit-monster dreams after throwing up from poor dieting, and thought up strange and escapist hypotheticals like moving to a new country and changing your age or deals with the devil to gain flying powers. He disliked deep discussions about psychology and yet several times seemed to feel as if he he was being affected by some synchronicity or strange coincidences. He was often driven by the need to either be entertaining to others or be entertained by someone/something else in any given situation, or else he would become bored, which for him was an intolerable and disagreeable state to be in.

Needless to say the guy had many personal problems that he had a history of running from and breaking people’s trust. He often had miscommunication with others and would create assumptions that led to misunderstandings. I do believe he was being heavily influenced by his trickster and identified with it far too much. Projection of the trickster is a very real thing.

Finally, a Jungian psychoanalysis channel that isn’t drenched in mysticism and melancholy!

So, what is the function of the Trickster? It seems to me that the Trickster functions to keep our ego under control. To keep us from being too grandiose and full of ourselves. Just when we think we're "all that and a bag of chips", the Trickster will make us do something so stupid or embarrassing that we are forced admit, if not to others, but to ourselves that we not "all that." Sort of like our own personal Karma.
