Wish a mod can take care of this problem its a game killer in the end its the devs fault for not making a game that can handle it but for 20 bucks it is what it is until modders come together and recreate the game a total over haul devs will never do it so yea kinda screwed building too much will be at 20fps on modern pcs

How to get more fps: turn everything of and run the game on low resolution! Thought this video was about interesting commands ingame or tweaks in the gpu control panel. Waste of video.

do not set active point lights to low, the game will get darker because it "switches" off your base lights as torches etc etc.

Hey i tried all of the ways shown in the video but valheim is still stuck in 12 fps

Gpu: Rtx 3080ti
Cpu: 5800x3d
Ram: 32 GIG DDR4 3600mhz

My main issue is when im in areas where there has been alot of building or where there is alot of enemies, my fps drops alot from like 144 to 60, but my gpu, cpu, and ram usage doesnt budge or change at all, gpu usage average: 30%, cpu: 25-30%, and all my temps are like below 50 c, have you heard of this problem before with Valheim?

do NOT turn game mode on. There are a lot of issues that can come up with it on. including added stutters in game

Playing on 1060 - if I set everything according to this guide I am getting 150 fps at the stone circle, if I just lower shadow quality to medium, my fps is jumps between 85 and 73 at same location but the game looks much better. So I guess playing with the shadow slider should be enough for anyone playing on PC these days.

Also. The biggest visual upgrade you can make to valheim is to use willybach HD textures. This will make the game look MUCH better and will not kill FPS. The only requirement is you must have enough vram, as textures eat up a lotta vram. Having 4gb of vram will be enough to use the medium quality textures.

If you have a gaming laptop like I do, just make sure to clean the dust from inside of it, repaste it with a high quality thermal paste, undervolt the GPU and CPU (if possible), OC the GPU as well as GPU vram for performance boost and lastly, raise the laptop above the table. Those tiny rubber feet are to stop the laptop from sliding. They're not raised enough to allow the laptop to suck in enough cool air. Just lift up the back for better airflow.

All that will drop temps significantly. I'm talking about like 10-30 degrees depending on your laptop and how many of the steps you've taken. This will help improve valheim performance massively depending on your case.

Doing most of that, now allows my 1650 mobile to run at higher clocks and give more performance.

Did the performance improved a lot since the start of valheim?
