We cannot solve the issue of small-scale industries if we solely rely on the Indian market.

To reach the global market, we must establish an infrastructure and supply chain. For example, a Chinese merchant will not make much money if he sells only in the Chinese market; however, if he sells in any developed country, the product will make more profit.

With proper coordination of Chinese vendors, logistics, government trade policies, and e-commerce platforms, the Chinese government has established a supply chain.

The Indian government must develop a comprehensive B2C platform that enables small businesses to enter both domestic and foreign markets. It should be possible for a small retailer to focus on the goods rather than trade regulations and technological advancements.

Please do a program on it's current status, it doesn't appear to be taking off at least not visible

Your assumptions are incorrect in this video.
When we look at operating profit, inventory model in present age is severely loss making while marketplace model is profit making.
What you are looking at is pure product margin and that is different than operating profit.

I see this video after one year of its posting. Still ondc has not made any headway and as expected it hasn't revolutinised ecommerce. The reason may be half-hearted approach of the Govt.

ONDC - 95 + 105 (delivery charges) + 31 (packaging) = 230/-

Swiggy - with 15% discount applied 236/-

Zomato - with 25% discount applied 210/-

ONDC aint gonna be a game changer like aadhar or UPI.

I think about this 8 years ago but it combines only amazon and flipkart into one platform. Because at that time I've only used those two to check up on the products price and reviews😅😂. The same products with different prices gave me this idea at that time. We need one unified platform and the government alone can make this happen. I support this.😊

There are always winners and losers when any new technology is introduced. The only questions we should ask are - does this help the country as a whole, does it lead to more innovation and does it spread the profit equitably between all service and
goods providers involved in the transaction.

As we know the villains in the open market are the consumers, they don't care about local market, they want the best and cheaper. Amz and Flpk already improved good delivery and policy return. So, nothing can save the small vendors, its a chain of nature.

After 1 year, where are on this? What is the latest update? Is it moving ahead or similar story of more talk and less action?

This actually helped a lot in learning deep insights of how these giant tech companies are ruling and have established their monopolies in the market. They actually have kicked out many small retailers and sellers from the business. Anyways, ONDC looks powerful but it surely has to fight with obstacles so as to stand out in the market. It surely can help in more innovation and development of economy.

What a hipocrisy by government, first they themselves introduce digitalization if everything and after the mess they again introduce something. They have kiled the small retailer and businesses. Nothing is revolutionary bro! Dont be andhbhakt. Please vote wisely!

How will ondc solve for deep discounting? E-commerce platform can easily keep giving huge discounts which cannot be matched by small sellers. So the whole purpose to help small retailers will not be solved

I couldn't find that big a price difference between ONDC and Swiggy for certain items like burger. Also, they show shops that are way outside deliverable area.. However, this is just the beginning and software will be improved..

Everybody seem to be happy that govt is solving a (imaginary)problem. But there is rampant bribery and inefficiencies in almost all the public sector organizations. This is a problem that has to be solved , can be solved overnight and within the reach of the govt but it wont. Now since we have the proof that Govt is not interested in solving the actual problems there are 2 questions 1) who is the real hidden benefactor of ONDC? 2) If ONDC is enforceable why not enforce efficiency and anti-bribery stance in Govt sector, who is the benefactor here?

NOTE: TN govt is not able to (or wont) enforce auto rickshaws to use Meters in the state for almost 65 years now.

All govt initiatives eventually get suckered and ONDC is no exception. In a couple of years after the hype has died down it will be back to normal business for the big wigs...the customer hates complexity and poor quality. The trust built by Flipkart, Swiggy, Amazon over the past 15 years cannot unravel under ONDC, Nilenkeni's brains not withstanding....

ONDC is a famcy name for something isn't working for Tomato and piggy...

If there is NO COMMON/Nodal point...the retailers will take Quality for a ride for sure...enough of these Middle men. Let the products and services be dealt by Big companies where Quality is assured by Machinizing...Take example of Food industry how many food Inspectors are there to check every retail center...it's easy to monitor afee rather hundreds and anticipate corruption....
