Did you predict the winner? How many TT bikes do you think it will take to beat the derestricted e-bike?
ОтветитьGame on! 2TT, rolling start, for the win.
ОтветитьE bike is wicked;just derestricted mine now!!
ОтветитьHere I though that GCN was all about pushing the limits of physical endurance and performance in cycling.
Now you’ve gone down this ridiculous e-bike path. Perhaps I’m in the wrong UTube channel. Perhaps I need to find a channel for real cycling. 😮
My favorite part Connor yelling "Common your gaining on him! COMMON!"
ОтветитьI figured Hank would win. MORE POWERRRR! I may have misheard, but I thought the number quoted for speed restriction in the US was wrong. There is a 20 mph/32 kph restriction for class 1 and 2 ebikes. There is a class 3, which is restricted to 28 mph/45 kph.
ОтветитьActually Hank class 3 e-bikes in the US are restricted to 45kph/28mph
Just like the Canyon Grail on you are riding (except mine has electronic Sram) excellent for us heart failure patients ♥️
which TT bike has longest reach for big people?
Ответитьmore like battle for the ugliest cockpit...
Ответитьthe race should e a straight sprint track
ОтветитьFun stuff thanks for these great videos ! What chainring did you have on the Grail ? I have that bike I put a 46t on it (and it works fine) from a 44 and it looked like it could possibly take a 48t and not mess up the chainline too much.
Ответитьall good
ОтветитьSuper fun :)
ОтветитьElectric time trial bike
ОтветитьRestricted to 28 mph in US 💪🇺🇸
ОтветитьThey should exchange the bikes and see the difference
ОтветитьThey should have Lance Armstrong on these races. Doped up to the gills guy vs. Doped up pros who haven't been caught yet.
Ответитьevery single shit by Canyon is a... Canyon a merde
ОтветитьConsidering that this was a 250w Bosch, imagine the time if you had a unlocked 1000w Bafang Ultra equipped e-bike, or any other DIY setup. We haven't even gotten to replacing the motor controller or introducing a battery of higher voltage either. Of course though... Hank would have to wear some motorcycle grade protection in the case he wipes out. Maybe you guys can get Ribble Weldtite on TT bikes against a fully illegal DIY e-bike?
ОтветитьFor anyone wondering the song name is kenji ooyy
Ответить.
.
Am not at home
ОтветитьTry a recumbent
ОтветитьThe advantage of the start was a bit of a let down. I was imagining a longer race, more about TT bike top speeds and e-bike endurance.
ОтветитьGee what's faster, something powered by a human, or something powered by a human and a big battery? Man I just can't imagine what the final answer might be.
ОтветитьSo the TT bike averaged 44 km/h. What did the e-bike average?
ОтветитьIt really isn't fair when the e-bike can get up to speed really quick, where on the TT bike you have to put a lot of effort and time in before you are up to speed. They should have had them get to 35kmh beside each other then have them race.
ОтветитьMy Class 3 E-bike I bought from a Raleigh dealership here in the Pacific NorthWest of the USA tops out at 28mph. Substantially higher top speed than 20kmh stated. Derestricted, it now keeps going until the gearing allows me to mid-30's mph on the flat. I use it to commute a round trip of 22 miles a day and it gets me to and from work quicker than the bus used to!
ОтветитьTo short a test do a 25 mile TT
ОтветитьOver the course of my 40 years and 250,000 miles of cycling (real cycling), I never once thought I’d want an electric motor. Just buy a scooter w no pedals or a motorcycle.
Makes me wonder how many people will now never discover their cycling potential due to electric motors. What a shame
20MPH in NA
ОтветитьCancellara
ОтветитьI love TT
ОтветитьThe US e-bike laws are: Class 1 PAS only 20mph, Class 2 Throttle equipped 20mph, Class 3 PAS only 28mph. (32kph and 41kph respectively) All are limited to 750w.
Ответитьyo! how bout som motors & shit on a TT bike? ............. BRO SPEED : ]
ОтветитьIgitt-Bikes
ОтветитьU are kind of blind or... Something. This is a gravel eléctric... How will win a pro tt
ОтветитьI'm thinking the next video should be a frankenbike - an E-TT Bike :)
ОтветитьAll that money spent on R & D for the perfect roadie and a recumbent would still kick it's ass.
ОтветитьI think this and bikes with similar Bosch drivetrains only delivers 250w of continuous power. The 340% increase is only up to 85Nm and only up to 250w of power. This is separate from the speed limit which is 'derestricted' here. This explains relative modest advantage of this ebike vs tt. You could extract more continuos power from the cheaper and less restrictive Bafang and similar brands.
ОтветитьWhen did we forget eBikes are literally MOTORcycles? Try starting with a depleted battery and using solar to charge it during the race. Carrying a charged battery into the race is the same as a tank of gasoline on a motorcycle.
ОтветитьIf you increase the distance, at some point the e-bike will need to conserve battery and the edge will go to the time trial bike.
ОтветитьCan we all just agree to call ebikes what they are? Motored bikes. Shouldn’t be allowed on trails not built for motored bikes.
ОтветитьMy prediction is 3 TT bikes will beat a derestricted e-bike. Put Alex, Olie, and Si on the TT vs Hank on e-bike.
ОтветитьLove the sport of cycling. Rider myself. But gosh we gotta get better representatives. I promise everyone reading this we aren't all geeks. LOL
ОтветитьThe E-bike should have had bolt on aero bars. An equal start should have been done, and the use of the ride assist should have only been used on windy sections. Two TT bikes should be tried, with the E-bike having bolt on aero bars. The E-bike is made for commuting long distances, so one can be fresh when they arrive at work. All e-bikes should be rated for max 40 kmph to make them good for long commutes. After all, a TT bike can go 40 km, why not e-bikes? I know two guys where I live use Specialized Shiv to ride to work daily. They just fly.
ОтветитьBring the professional Cancellara on the channel yes. By featuring de-restricted e-bike then you are surely encouraging other large numbers of people to also de-restrict e-bikes.
ОтветитьImagine if ebikes were really restricted to 20kph in US? Pesky imperial/ metric mixups!
Ответить
