I love it when things are pushed to the edge. It’s what makes the story compelling and makes you care more for the characters. Your thoughts on GOT is wrong. Sex rape murder was all common place in the middle ages . I say if you can’t take the heat get out the kitchen. Read stuff on puppies doing cute tricks if that’s your thing. I like realism even in a fantasy with dragons and zombies.

I've never had a good way to describe why violence and those kinds of sexually depraved scenes bothered me differently, thank you for putting that into words.

Great video, Garrett! I've been thinking about this topic because a story I'm working through MIGHT contain sensitive topics. I thought about avoiding explicitly details about actual acts, like sexual assault, and show the characters inner thoughts and actions AFTER, and letting the reader come to their own conclusion. Would this be effective and would you consider this trivializing?

Comic books also fall into that category of rape and sexual assault. DC is the worst offender

You make a great point and I always like your videos, but I think you misread Fight Club. You're correct based on the film, but not for the book text.
