Was the Direwagler Brigade separate from the Einsatzguppen? Was the SD under the Waffen SS or the political Allemage SS? What was the connection between the 3nd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf and the Totenkopf Guard Brigades? Was the Gestapo under SS control or Goerings? Thanks.

Great video overall, pleasantly surprised on how objective it is. The only thing is that I’m mixed on the whole “Rhine Meadows Death Camps” mention. Are there any real good sources for this event? Most of what I’ve heard about this is largely farcical exaggeration, or just straight up propaganda.

Thank you for including a lot of history towards the end of the war that most mainstream education would never mention. Especially here in the west. It would never be taught that the leader of the SS was asking for a peaceful transition after the war, or to come together to fight what would be one of the most vile, evil governments in history, Stalins Russia. Who knows what could have happened in Europe if Hitler was done away with and the Allies joined with Germany against Russia. Churchill wanted revenge because of what had happened in the Somme and other battles of WWI, plus the ridiculous bombing of England by Germany. I think all of us know that Hitler had to go. That’s why so many attempts were made on his life by his own military. His logic and reason had given way to ego and megalomania. I think Himmler, had he killed Hitler earlier could have created a different outcome

I want to thank you for twlling the truth unbiased. Many other documentaries put their own personal bias into it. It comes off as a hit piece from them. You do it correctly. No personal opinions no embellishments just the truth!

Up to this point i had never heard such detail of the SA, beyond that they had aspirations of power and were purged for it. It now makes more sense.

could use a bit more context around, for example, why the communists hated the government that had led the nation into WWI. speaking of WWI, German citizens were 100% aware they were losing, for one - millions of men had been dying, and no progress on the Western Front. You might like the proto-SS giys more than the communists, but you don't need to make it quite so apparent in your telling

Definitely could have used an extra 20 minutes or so to talk about groups like the Einsatzgruppen and the Totenkopfverbände or “Death Heads”. These were both major parts of the SS so I really don’t know how you could have missed them.

It's unfortunate that you cling to the Rhine Meadows story....at least to the numbers.....it mars an otherwise good docu....
