Education: Differentiating between Knowledge Acquisition & Intellectual Development | Why it Matters

We're going to be highlighting the difference between knowledge acquisition and intellectual development, and expressing why this difference should matter to you.

Most of our Modern Education curricula is focused on evaluating our ability to retain, recall and recognize bits of information. We often assume that the more we know, the smarter we are.

Not the case.

Intellectual development references our ability to apply what we know, in ways that are most appropriate based on the context or the situation. Our capacity to recognize the multiplicity and complexity inherent in information.

A necessary tool, that is often not developed in our Modern Day Schooling System.
