Sven sat down and removed his avitail helmet, he looked up to get a proper view of his kill, a large sea beast lured onto the shore and his two handed axe planted deep in its one eye between two horns. Vladimir and Gregor came an sat next to him, Gregor’s kilt lay just past his knees and Vladimir’s lamellar was covered in the beasts sticky blue blood. “Well, that went better than expected” said Gregor, before taking a swig from his flask of ale. Sven said nothing, still coming to terms of what he and his friends just pulled off, and what more they could do “does this mean we’re finally adventurer’s” said Sven “what” said Vladimir, Sven stood up and looked to his two companions “are we now adventurer’s, we’ve killed this beast, think of what more we could do, the lad we could explore, the gold we could make, and the songs they’d write about us, me, a dashing warrior from the northern wastes, you Vladimir, a Druzina from the sclavanies forests, seeking honour for his tribe and you Gregor, a warrior from the frozen islands, together we will travel all the way to the land of khans and back, and claim honour and glory for our people, what do you say friends, are you with me”. Vladimir and Gregor looked at each other to consider their decision “aye” said Gregor, “I want to see what the world has to offer and how many enemies I can take with me” “me too” said Vladimir “I wish to bring riches and fame home to my tribe”. With his friends support, Sven put his helmet back on and marched to the beasts corpse, grabbing the Handle of his axe he looked back to his friends “then let’s get started” before pulling the axe out of the beast.

Benjamin sat at his door, with pack in hand, weapon by his side, and a nervousness that settled in his gut that would make any hearty dwarf spew. Benjamin now 20 years old was ready to set out on his adventure. And like any Human with a relatively short life span when compared to the other races that inhabited the world, was ready to create a legacy.

A new group of friends, a quest, and all the freedom to do as he pleased. But now he struggles to find the courage to simply open a door. He reluctantly reaches for the door nob with the speed of a dying sloth. Could he really do this? I this something he could even do?

The familiar scent of poorly cooked mutton from last nights dinner still lingering as he takes a deep breath. He grips his pack that seems to be getting heavier and heavier as he stands there. No, this is what he wants, why have doubts now, he has gone through all the trouble of even getting this far, why back out now? He grips the doorknob turning it, light filling the dimly lit cottage and a rush of fresh air brushes past his face.

He is greeted not only by the warm morning sun but to a bright smiling face of Ransly, a Tiefling he had previously met a week ago in a tavern. He was a sorcerer who was performing magic tricks that evening trying to earn an extra bit of coin. But when he spied Benjamin looking at the bounty board, he took the chance to chat him up and convince him to bring him along.

“Well, it took you long enough! I was about to burst in there and pull you out myself if it took you any longer”

The red Tiefling chuckles only to be cut off by another, more deep and gravelly voice.

“Aye, and now I owe this devil a pint….. err…. Not that I was betting against you lad, I had the upmost faith in ya…”

The dwarf wearing a finely crafted set of chainmail with a tabard marked by the symbol of Moradin, chuckles. Benjamin recognizes this as the dwarf who he met a few nights later in the same tavern, Beags Mountainhewer. He was looking for a new group of people to travel with. He claims he left his last group because of “political differences” but after a few drinks the story seemed to change. Nevertheless Benjamin wasn’t in a situation to be picky about who he could recruit.

“…well we best be leaving soon, hopefully you got everything packed Ben….. Its okay if I call ya Ben right?”

Benjamin nods, “Seeing as we will be traveling with each other for a while, might as well call me what my friends call me”

“That’s the spirit lad!”

“Where’s Anwin?” asked Ben while looking around to see if he missed the half-elf while getting a count of who was here.

“Right here!” a voice down the street called.

An excited half elf was running in their direction, her blonde hair slowly falling out of the bun she had made earlier this morning, her trusty companion, a large dire wolf running by her side. Her bow slung across her shoulder as she waved to the 3 men standing outside of Benjamins residence.

“Sorry I’m a bit late, had to pick up a new quiver. Mine old one seems to have been mysteriously chewed and half buried by and unknown assailant.”

She shoots a side eye to the dire wolf. The wolf, tongue out, a blank look in his eyes, stares at her with the utmost adoration. The group chuckles. Benjamin looks to Anwin and smiles. Don't let her cute exterior fool you, she is deadly with that bow. He had only heard rumors of the shots she could make with her longbow. He found himself excited to find out of those rumors were true.

“That’s all of us! Let’s get a move on.” Ransly exclaims as he begins marching toward the town gate.

As the rest follow the lead of the Red Tiefling, Benjamin stays for just a moment, turns around, and bids his cottage a fond farewell for the time being. Hiking up his backpack and placing a hand on his sword, he breaths in, cool morning air filling his lungs. This is where his saga starts. Benjamins adventure begins, in a small town, with 3 strangers, and a quest.

Benjamin takes a step forward knowing its the first of many.

In one of the last campaigns I ran, I used to play this at the beginning of every session. I'm currently looking through all of the music I used to use and got to this. This brings back such good memories!

*you see a beautiful red pinkish scarlet forest of enchantment trees some are glowing with crystals and mushrooms
Some of them have tiny houses for pixies and fairy's
And some are made into houses fit for larger people
It seems this forest is made into a small little enchanted town
Some creatures run around doing errands talking selling and buying stuff from this town they must live here you ponder

With Lord of the Rings vibes and many medieval instruments, this is without a doubt one of the greatest Musics for a simple beginning rather than a fight with the overlord of the universe. Welcome to the Prismatic Sea. We are in the year 128 AU, 7 years after the original campaign. Lively and a complex melting pot of extravagant cultures, the Prismatic Sea is the epitome of an exemplary commercial exchange hub.

To the west lies the Cyernes dynasty, home to the dragonborns of Erdenföld. Its territory, described by a massive landmass, gives way to vast deciduous forests that stretch from Argonemes to Maravad. This immense territory is under the rule of the long lineage of the Maolias. It is a royal family that has reigned over Cyernes for many generations. Argonemes, the capital of this region, strategically utilizes its location at the entrance of the Prismatic Sea to control the incoming and outgoing commercial ships. This region of the Sea is considered the wealthiest among the great kingdoms of Erdenföld.

Continuing eastward, we arrive at the magnificent Republic of Garde-en-Mer and its capital, Bellegarde. It is a beautiful peninsula of vast oak forests bordering the Great Coral Reef, which determines the elven kingdom. Existing since before the Zenith era, Bellegarde is a cornerstone of the elven population of Erdenföld. Controlled by the Senate of Bellegarde, it ensures peace between the different parties of the Prismatic Sea and the Republic of Garde-en-Mer.

Further east, a more imposing empire emerges. The Grey Empire, better known as the United Empire of the East, is the result of the consolidation of several cities to the east of the Prismatic Sea. From Lygham to Prism, from Fidem Fons to Aurum Stella, these united forces are formidable. They govern an immense territory with millions of inhabitants and ensure its security. In Lygham, a significant army is maintained, which in turn encourages neighboring kingdoms to maintain peace at all costs. In Fidem Fons, politics reign supreme. Important decisions regarding changes in laws or military actions of the empire are made in this immense city with imposing fortifications.

However, even though the Empire has managed to assimilate many important kingdoms, it does not own the entirety of the East. This is the case for a major city in the cold north of Fidem Fons, named Vescheidenheid.

Several years ago, Standvastigheid, now known as Fidem Fons, had a twin city to the north. During the Frannic era, these two cities were the most renowned in the Prismatic Sea. They were giants in trade, mineral collection, and the production of iron weapons, working together to grow the region's economy. After Clarell's conquest of the East during the Unification War, Vescheidenheid refused to unite with the Eastern Empire, arguing that a cultural change would lead to a civil war. Fidem Fons then severed commercial and cultural exchanges with them, leaving the twin city to its own fate. For several years now, Vescheidenheid has been slowly transforming into a ghost town. Many businesses close their doors, and family businesses vanish as their successors seek more lucrative opportunities in Fidem Fons or Novochezny. Unfortunately, this has led to increased poverty and crime, as the police force no longer receives sufficient funding from the royalty. Nevertheless, Vescheidenheid remains an imposing city with a culture deeply rooted in the history of the Prismatic Sea—a remnant of the Frannic Empire.

Our story begins in the snow-covered streets of Vescheidenheid, more specifically in a noisy tavern that provides warmth amidst a raging snowstorm outside. A small trio of guitars, lute, and pan flute enthralls the people of the old town, inviting the rare tourists of the region to engage in line dances or drunken competitions that often escalate into general brawls. Despite everything, the inhabitants of Vescheidenheid are known for their warmth and kindness.

It is within this tavern, with a few copper coins and cups of eggnog, that two individuals enlightened by a candlelight engage in a discussion around a deck of cards...

You all find yourselves in the middle of the forest, under the large pine tree. As you look around, you can see the snow on the ground slowly melting away with the faint light of the dawn. You hear the song of birds chirping about. The campfire from last night has burnt down and turned into a pile of ash. Far off in the distance, on top of the hills you see the majestic citadel of Tharlburg. What would you like to do?

I often use this as intro music to my DND sessions. as everyone sits and get's their snacks and drinks and talks amongst themselves for a bit.
once the sessions start ill switch to syrinscape and use sounds from there for my current campaign to keep the mood going as this is a little light-hearted for CoS.
then as the session comes to a close and everyone sits and talks about what just happened I'll turn this back on and keep the mood going for a bit even after session end.
