How many rounds without a malfunction, non shooter induced, does a gun need to fire before it’s considered reliable? I have a RIA TAC ULTRA FS HC and I’ve put aluminum, brass, and steel case through it. Haven’t cleaned it since I bought it. Yet to jam. I agree with all your points but reliability. My gen 3 g 17 jammed more and that thing would chew up and spit out everything. Don’t forget, ammo does play a significant factor in functionality.
ОтветитьWW2 veterans will tell you it was a weapon they swore buy its not for everyone reguardless of what you get if you do nothing to make sure your gun works properly and learn how to take care of it does not matter what you have for your protection
ОтветитьIf you like Jeeps, don't buy a pickup truck!
This video is so idiotic!
"Let me tell you about something I don't like, because I like something else"
How Fn stupid
The only gun that I have in my house. Can't even afford to buy ammos. I only have a hundred FMJs and 2 extra 8 round magz but still it scares the monsters outside the house. sounds like a roaring lion..
ОтветитьThe one thing that's missing from the video is what this guy DOES rely on. If you're going to say the 1911 doesn't fit your needs, why not share what does? For me, it's an HK P30.
ОтветитьI love 1911s so much that i wouldnt want to carry it as my main defensive weapon. I dont really care if a $500 glock gets confiscated and melted down even if it holds 10 more rounds than a 1911 plus one in the chamber
Ответитьcertified hashbrown moment
ОтветитьStop right there... anyone still calling it knock down power knows little. It is called stopping power. NO gun has knock down power, not even a shotgun or a fifty. 🙄 This guy basically is saying he don't trust his training because he can't remember to switch it on. Can't turn it on in stress? Leave the main safety off. Glock has none but drop either. At least the 1911 has a grip safety. Sometimes I see people like this and think how little time they must put into training. No plastic for me. And I have owned four Glocks and about 20++ different pistols. #1 1911, #2 P228/P229/P226, #3 M9, #4 CZ75, #5 HP. Prefered setups but like others. No Glock rock for me. And yes I still own and train with them a lot. 1911 all the way. Also there ARE a few higher cap mags that ARE decent and reliable. Wilson is an easy to find one.
ОтветитьI love my 1911's and have shot them for 40 years, but i also do not carry it for an everyday carry. I normally carry my Sig P65 or my P320. Semper Fi!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI dont get it shaw, follow up. what do you recommend? Plastic guns with bad triggers made elsewhere? Yea 1911s are heavy limited capacity more maintenance blah blah, but show us something better faggot than complain with no answers
ОтветитьLet me guess you never owned or fired one. You need a plastic gun or a water pistol
Ответитьif you dont like the 1911 then you are a glock so go on and whine I have been using these guns since I was taught by my dad at 11 years old and Im now 73 still have three
ОтветитьAll valid points but you can get a good functioning 1911 for the cheap like the tisas and the rock island. To be real more expensive ones like Kimberly are the ones I see more issues with.
ОтветитьClownboy
ОтветитьSo what you’re saying is you’re lazy and you want everything to be easy… Did I understand you correctly?
They do make double stack 1911s so you can’t cry about 7+1(8+1)… if you need a 99+1 capacity sidearm you might be doing it wrong…
If you prefer a Tupperware pistol that’s fine but don’t assume it’s going to last for 100 years and still be good to go… because there is no evidence to support that…
Best bit of click bait I've seen for a while..... man's been earning money out of this vid! Keep commenting guys.... he's getting rich!
ОтветитьThe military had these for like 70 years, I'm pretty sure a safety is trainable. Are you scared of ARs too because it has a safety lol.
ОтветитьTo each his own.
ОтветитьIn civilian hands, a pistol without a safety is a dangerous firearm. It is rumored that in serious elite military units today, people do not allow a condition one carry with a striker fired Glock style handgun. A cocked and locked 1911 is a completely safe pistol that can be deployed with a flick of the thumb during the draw. There are four safeties on a 1911, Manual safety lever, grip safety, half cock and an inertia firing pin, two are absolutely effective. A 45ACP hit IS significantly more effective than a 9mm. A 1911 is easier to shoot accurately. In VN I found myself looking down the barrel of someone's rifle a lot. When a civilian has a tiny sliver of steel on the trigger as the only thing between him and an A.D. do you feel safe? Not me. There is a tiny difference between Macho and stupid.
ОтветитьI disagree I have a 1911 it shoots great and everything. 45acp does have stopping power the grains will be to 235grains. The only thing it sucks its the maintain the gun good. Don't let the gun go rust is the only down part about it. I have more experience than you I been hunting since day 1.
Ответить1911 owners all claim their 1911 runs flawless till they have to prove it on camera.
Ответить1911 is boss. Carry it with thumb safety off if you cant train to grip the pistol and disengage the thumb safety in one motion upon drawing. You still have the grip safety as well as the trigger. I have primarily 3 guns in my carry rotation, A SW .380 DAO for summer carry with very light clothing, a Sig P365X for more moderate weather, but as soon as the weather warrants garments that conceal better my Dan Wesson Commander size 1911 in 9MM is with me 24/7. Definitely my fave. I also have 2 full size 1911's a Colt Competition Series 70 and a Wilson Combat ACP. I love 1911 pistols.
ОтветитьYou like and use what you like to use..I like my baseball bat..and baseball's....
ОтветитьThe 1911 is an effective and efficient OFFENSIVE weapon, as it was designed. It was never intended for use as a defensive civilian handgun.
ОтветитьGreat points 👍
Ответить1st off, if fine motor skills are so affected during a defensive situation, which we know are, then good luck getting your gun out of the holster and even pulling the trigger let alone aiming. This mans logic. just forget about even training with a gun. On my 1911, as soon as i clear holster, that safety is down. Every single time. God forbid my attacker grab my gun (iwb) during a fight, he wont know to put the safety down. So that may buy me some time. In a fight, and BG grabs your glock, hes pulling the trigger. Youre dead.
Ответить1911 stood the test of time for me a classic 👌
ОтветитьWhat an idiot
ОтветитьThe FUNKER retards took time off pretending Ukraine is winning to prove what idiots they are about guns.
ОтветитьI LOVE and I mean LOVE my 1911. I also LOVE my sig p220. Both carry 8 rounds. And I enjoy shooting the hell out of them. But I wouldnt be being honest if I said they were both optimal for modern defense applications. Does the 1911 deserve massive praise and is it a popular gun? hell yeah. And they are great guns. But if I was going drag racing and want to win, Im bringing the car with the best and most reliable performance. A 1970 chevelle SS with a big block was AMAZING back in the day. But by modern standards those cars are slow. You can build one to be faster. But bigger isnt always better.
Ответить1911 has helped return many service members back home to this country that cleaned and operate this platform than any plastic striker for fire pistol could ever attempt to I suggest you become proficient with its use it sounds like you can’t remember the safety
ОтветитьThe 1911 in .45ACP is as fine a defensive/offensive handgun there is. The key to the 1911, and any other firearm is training. You must train to become and stay proficient
Ответитьstill waiting to hear what your gun is? remember when the HRP stuff started. saw MORE problems with the M9 than 1911 with Marines who have NEVER used a handgun.
People who dont know how to care and use the (any) should NEVER have a gun.
Saw a LOT of glocks in the sandbox FAIL. a critical flaw in the frame design lets sand in the action.
Know a LOT of so called master trainers that are great on the range, get people hurt in real gunfights.
BIG difference having been a gunfight and BEING A GUNFIGHTER.
SO please tell me WHAT gun works ALL THE TIME
I have to ask this to people that carry a 1911 daily: do you have a Model T Ford as your daily driver? Do you insist on traveling cross-country on a DC-3? Do you wear all-wool clothes because it was good enough for your grandpa? Carrying a 1911 is usually a flex and nothing more.
ОтветитьIf it’s good enough for the US military I trust it with my life
Ответитьthere are guns that aren't 1911s ?
ОтветитьThis reads more like "Why I don't trust myself with a 1911." My uncle carried one in Vietnam, I never remember him whining about the safety or having reliability issues. The only problem I've had with my Colt is a weak extractor which was fairly easy to fix once I got the tools. As for "knockdown power," you are right. It's because people don't understand the difference between a lethal wound and an incapacitating wound. Either one has the ability to be lethal or incapacitating and it all depends upon the type of round you are shooting and accuracy. I'm way more accurate with a 1911, that's why I use one for defensive use over a Glock. The safety can easily be overcome with training. And as for having to do more maintenance to keep them operational...? It's called taking 15 minutes to break it down, clean and oil it. It's not that hard.
Ответить1911 is not for anyone who does not trust this pistol. You know it even from the very first time you hold that gun if you “FEEL” it or not. I’m a 1911 guy maybe your not but that’s ok.
ОтветитьSo many hurt 1911 owners in the comments. Glad that it didn't fail you, but it did fail me. And many others who might not be as lucky to tell the tale. Do you know what "confirmation bias" is? If not, I suggest you look it up. Not even saying all 1911's are bad, but the myth that this is somehow "perfect" or "never fails" is just stupid.
ОтветитьI understand the the safety part of what you saying, it can be a pain in the ass but I have put some time in to train myself with the safety on them. Great video
ОтветитьYou can't argue with the same price, Triple the Capacity, more stopping power.
My friend told me to buy a 1911. When he found out i was looking at FN-five 7 he was Disappointed that I didn't agree with his suggestion.
1911 is a great weapon platform that has withstood time. Especially if you look at how long the 70 series 1911 has been made. Im not sure what you mean by "properly maintaining it" every weapon should be maintained. If you were ever in the Marines you would understand that you should know that weapon inside and out Especially if your life depends on it. Maybe you should stick with the glock, the handgun of casuals
ОтветитьEveryone thinks they need way more bullets than you ever end up using. Ive had police and veterans tell me this. Im kind of a rounds whore myself but love my new kimber 1911 and will be carrying it frequently.
ОтветитьTo this day...No finer trigger exists.slim profile and accurate.
ОтветитьThe 1911 reminds me of the autococker in paintball.. an old, timeless design and outdated… but when perfectly setup and tuned they were reliable beasts… and both the 1911 and autocockers have classic, gnarly looks.
ОтветитьSo why don’t you trust it?
I understand you have some opinions about it, but I really didn’t hear anything about trust
or maybe just dont use the safety?
ОтветитьDon't spend any time making a 1911 reliable, buy a staccato c2 2011 and kick back and have a coors.
ОтветитьJust say I like piece of shit Glocks with no safeties. Or just carry the 1911 with the safety off. Do you use the safety on your M4? I bet yes.
Ответить
