Cool project. Signal processing are made in the Arduino firmware or do you preprocess the signal in hardware ?

Originally I did it within the software. That didn't work too well with on-air signals. Now I am using an LM567 tone decoder chip. This works much better, but is still not perfect. Sometimes the background noise trips the decoder. I think I can revisit the software and reject trips that are too short to be code. Just need some spare time to give it a try.

Ok thanks for your quick answer. I try to find some principle for tone detection. I would embed an Algorithm which can run on an Arduino Mega Great project

well all I can say is brilliant work OM I use an mfj decoder and yours puts that to shame
if possible do you have circuit diagrams available I would build one asap for my own shack reason for decoder I am partially deaf so cant copy code easy but leant to send by hand using mfj reader I get by ok but I will defiantly build this asap keep up the good work 73 merry Christmas

Good work! My Arduino decoder works well when a computer is the input.
Off the air is a big problem. My attempt to use a 567 has not been as successful as yours. I would like to show you my work and see yours. I have circuit noise problems, I think. I've used supply bypassing and gain adjustment but the circuit is not stable.
