Questions: I get offered goods free, have no way to sell them( where I live and bad back). How might I find a local partner who can do the location or storage part? For instance, someone tried to give me BMX bikes. At their yardsale 4 hours in they wanted to end, said take it all. I took the jewelry, DVDs, handbags(really nice ones), the Wii, but left nice new looking bikes. Can't sell from apartment and can't lift stuff out of my car.

I get offered decent free bikes, several times a year. Also get offered free furniture and electronics. It's usually from a sale far from home, in a wealthier area. If I could, I would. Thoughts on a work around?

Chris, thanks very much for the kind words. Yes, people always want a hero figure to lead them, but that isn't your responsibility. One of the first lessons of your new program should be that people need to cultivate believing in themselves as their own heroes.

I bought my Toyota Scion XD, hammered with hail dimples, with 4000 miles on it for $10K, put 200.000 miles on it, and now my grandson has had it for 2 years. It cost nothing for me to own. My low mileage used Prius just turned 80K and it's the same deal, looking at another 120K with 50 miles to the gallon. I always have a "next car fund" going so I can pay cash. Sweet!
