I don't need a AR 15.I carried M 16 AI. WITH A 203 IN ARMY.I trained in Warsaw pack Countries Weapons during Cold War N B C TRAINING. I HAD MY FILL. AS far as defense of our Country here on American Soil we do that by voting out Dictators like Ex President Trump and the people that support him. 😊

You don't need an AR-15 until you need an AR-15... doesn't mean you shouldn't have one.

I do not need an AR platform weapon. I prefer the AK and the Springfield M1a Scout.

Why would you need an AR-15 if you could just get a handgun?

The world doesn’t understand the importance of weapons and weapons rights.
1. Self defense against another human and none human threat and defense from the government.
2. Hunting and the ability to provide food to your self and or family via hunting.

But those 2 are not the most important one the most important one is number 3.

3. Because we live in a fish tank were anything can disrupt the easy life we have. This to me is important because through out history we have seen governments fall and rise, we have seen massive world wars, we have seen natural disasters that in a blink of an eye can change the dynamics of civilizations and more. What most people have today can be taken away in a blink of an eye and having weapons will play a huge role in wether one will live or die when such thing happens. Apophis will prove this point in 2029.

I believe every American needs to have: 9mm pistol, 12 gauge shotgun, and an AR. At a minimum. In that order, based on the 5/25 theology. A 9mm for close, personal protection. A shotgun for home defense and hunting/food. Then an AR for hunting an militia work.

You only mention that GUN homicides have gone down. But has homicide in general gone down at all. Has it gone down at the same pace as the average decrease world wide?
Interesting fact: In many European countries, even those where gun ownership for self defense purposes is not allowed, you can get a licence for an assault rifle. In Sweden you can get a licence for an AR 15 as a hunting rifle! Not many do, but it is possible.

I don't think everybody should own a rifle. Do you want a drunk around with a gun. You don't want a drug addict around with a gun. You don't want a 15 year old with a gun. Anybody who owns a gun should receive a period of training in gun safety and game laws.
Laws should be that gun owners are accountable for what their guns are used for. All weapon carrying people below 18 would have to be accompanied by a adult. When Paul Revere rode out, he was supposed to warn about seizure of an arsenal, not individual guns.

I love how these peoples favorite terms are "assault rifle" and "military grade" first off if it's military grade (and I'm speaking as a veteran who has plenty of experience with a Myriad of military grade items) I don't want to use it because it's junk. Privately owned gear is normally taken care of better than military gear. And well we all know what I have to say about them calling an AR15 an assault rifle. If you don't, look up what AR15 stands for.

I will still take a bolt action rifle for hunting as they are more accurate.

Small bullets kill things just as well as ones that leave giant holes that kill with one shot.

I actually would not use the AR 15 as it's outdated in these times. I like the 3006 as it can go way out there and is 30 caliber vs 22 caliber.

I’m not American, i have never witnessed mass shootings, but as mentally stable (somewhat) individual, and a reservist for my country, i know how IMPORTANT IT IS TO MAINTAIN MY SKILLS. Because come the time we are called upon, and we are not trained, we have no familiarity with our firearms, nor the muscle memory and skill to operate them, we’ll just be cannon fodder.

I live in a volatile region (asia pacific) and china is doing its tantrums here. I can see the value of each and every individual to get training in case china invades. (Much like what taiwan’s private citizens are doing). The threat of war is very real for us here and we don’t have easier access to training and owning our own firearms.

you are right. I just got my first gun and I’m about to buy another one. But I honestly have no one to vote for. I am progressive economically and pro worker, I believe in things like maternity leave and pensions and not having to go bankrupt because you get sick. I think the government should protect our industries and stopfollowing this free trade religion that nobody else seems to practice. I think if you work, you should actually make enough to have a decent life.

But the left is just dead wrong on the gun issue. So there is literally no party that even comes close to my views.
