ОтветитьThat Mido is a good looker and a perfect size
ОтветитьCan't even compare this to a Mido lol
ОтветитьNonoemsm tunodu first come
ОтветитьI really like the, both but I prefer the Mido. It has that old style design without looking like a submariner. Oddly enough it’s the only diving watch that has a day date function I enjoy. I just wish the lume was better.
ОтветитьI also have both watches. Seiko slays Mido in bezel action . Mido isn't hard to turn but VERY slippery, that said Mido does have a better Caliber. I liked the day date but don't dislike that it's not on the Seiko. Otherwise agree about everything else. LUME SUUX on the Mido. Both great watches !!!
I paid $500 for the Mido and $550for the Seiko. Both in "Like New" condition. I'll be keeping both.
I know that Seiko dive watches are my favourite, however; this Mido beats Seiko 061, due to 80 hours Power Reserve, better movement, Day Date Configuration, better bracelet, bezel alignment, smaller size and better overall looks.
ОтветитьThe Mido is a scratch magnet , plus 21 mm lug width weird. Case finishing Seiko wins, it will look great years down the road.
ОтветитьThe Mido is the best option by far in my opinion.
ОтветитьThe regular Mido Ocean Star Captain 200m would have a been a better campo watch. It is cheaper and has a more similar bracelet to the Seiko. I love all my Mido watches.
ОтветитьMIDO hands down. Better bracelet with a great micro adjutment, day-date in black background, the orange indicator for seconds, ... and very very confortable.
Ответитьthe hell with mediocre seiko. GO MIDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьNever liked used items but these are both great watches ..I think I’m buy the mido new and hood it for a life time slight edge goes to the mido with the diver extension .
ОтветитьMido wins by far.
ОтветитьI like a mido,s bracelet so beautiful
ОтветитьI'd take the Mido
ОтветитьWhere are your favorite grey market places to shop for watches? I'd slurp up a black mido ocean star tribute for $700! Let the other guy put the first scratches on it.
ОтветитьVery nice video. I really appreciate your way of comparing watches. I had those both specific models : I prefer the Mido. More confortable (divers extension on Seiko bracelet hurts my wrist), more precise !
ОтветитьMido for me.I am done with seiko. The only seiko i am keeping is the skx007/009/011 because of skx iconic status.
ОтветитьMido will be a scratch magnet, will look great for first month tho 😂
ОтветитьOwned Mido and Seiko and I will go always for Mido, just for quality. Seiko Prospex LX and GS are just not affordable.
ОтветитьThe Mido is significantly better, not really a fair fight. I remember when Seiko represented value.
ОтветитьThe Mido murders the Seiko aesthetically and technically.
ОтветитьMido is a Seiko killer! 💯
Swiss Made, caliber 80 made by Swatch group.
This video was not fair for that Seiko. SMH
I bought the same Mido Ocean Star in blue precisely to fill the void left by selling my last Seiko diver. I just had to get away from Seiko. It's their misalignments and inconsistent 4R and 6R movements that did it to me - I've owned 5 of them and all but one had an issue. So I did my research and I was prepared for the anemic lume on the Mido. But you have to think what you're going to use the watch for. For me, the Mido is for water and active weekend activities, all in daylight. So it's fine and not a deal breaker.
It seems entry level Seikos have great lume and poor movements while entry level Swatch brands have decent movements but consistently poor lume.
Mido is beautiful vintage sub.
Ответить$600 to $700 for the Mido on the grey market?? Really? Where? I have been looking to but this watch for over six months. I have not found a single one new or used for less than $950
ОтветитьBoth are great watches and brand name. Love them both👌👌
ОтветитьI have that Mido in the GMT configuration and love it. It is hefty at 44mm but wears better than it looks on paper. Excellent review - thank you. You have confirmed my thoughts on getting the 40mm three hander.
ОтветитьThe singular of "indices" is "index."
ОтветитьIf seiko could only make a 36mm and 38mm dive watch...my husband is very happy with his blue 38mm Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 600...a great value dive watch...the masses I believe would buy like mad any Seiko 36-38mm divers
ОтветитьAlways been a fan of Mido, the Mediterranean blue Ocean Star Tribute is a beauty if you don’t mind a shiny, fully polished dress diver.
The Seiko definitely has the nicer case but usual and more often then not a bad bracelet. I feel you get more for what you can grab them for in the Mido but Seiko has the diving heritage and a crazy fan base.
I’d take the Blue model Mido right now. Thanks for the comparison!
Solid as usual 👊🏼
Power reserve ( of more than 1.5 days) is nonsense. If I lay down my watch for more than the night I would wind it, of course. And thats it. But all „experts“ here on YT agree to those empty marketing statements that 80 h of pr is a revolutionary step forward. No its not. And I bet there is a significant trade off between overlong pr and accuracy even if they say there is not.
ОтветитьChris great comparison on both watches but I definitely favor your 061 . To me nothing beats a Seiko diver . Plus your 061 is ISO rated . Do you still have the sbdc033 Blumo in your collection? That’s still my favorite watch I own .
ОтветитьBig fan of what Seiko is currently doing within ProSpex.
Also a big fan of the Swatch Grp marques at the ~$1K point & often well under.
I think it comes down to individual choice tbh.
Swatch Grp 80hr PR mov'ts probably pip the Seiko 6R35, but both are great work-horse mov'ts in my book.
Seikos ᴀʟᴡᴀʏs kicks the Swatch Grp brands arse ʟᴜᴍᴇ ᴡɪsᴇ.
TBH, I'm just happy to have real choice of more than a few real watches for ~ $1K.
We can buy a Longines Avigation Chrono BNIB with full genuine international warranty for around $1600 or a Tissot PRX for around $300!
All I see is upside for everyday enthusiasts like myself atm. Sure, I may not be able to get into a new Rolex...but all things considered, do I really want too?
It’s not often I’d say this but I’d totally go for the seiko here...that’s a great model. Alignment issues I can deal with...I can fix it. This one and the MM300 are the only seikos that catch my interest anymore.
ОтветитьBoth good choices. I'll never understand why Seiko can't fix their alignment problem. They could if they wanted to. No more Seikos for me, ever.
ОтветитьSeiko movements are crap! Very inaccurate in my experience. Only Grand Seiko offers high quality movements. If you want a Seiko I suggest an Invicta instead - cheaper and the same movements, which are strangely often more accurate than in Seiko watches!
ОтветитьThe mido is 900 euro in EU, thats 1038 dollars - not that affordable tbh.
ОтветитьBoth great watches
ОтветитьThe Mido is much much nicer.
ОтветитьSeiko is the king of making large watches wear much smaller than the measurements would lead you to believe.
ОтветитьThe Mido is quite nice... l don't get the seiko thing..
ОтветитьThe bezel alignment issue is such a turn off...
ОтветитьDon’t forget, Seiko is ISO certified to 200m and Mido is not. Both are great watches in under 1K category.
ОтветитьI really wanna add one of those seikos to my collection. I recently got a similar mido Ocean Star but mine is in pvd rose gold (that’s actually holding up great). It has a fitted rubber strap but it has the awesome clasp!
ОтветитьMido used to be the cheapest swiss made alternative for autos and chronometers. Seiko was much better but a lower tier. That's why it was a much better option. Now at the same price it is difficult to justify it. I love Seiko but I keep the ones I already have. And mido, I love the 2824 ones with chronometer cosc certificate
ОтветитьGreat video both great watches 👍
ОтветитьI have the sbdc063 and love it ! , do you know where can I get the Seiko bracelet? Love your channel , regards from sunny México
Ответитьi'm a huge SEIKO fan ;)
