I wonder how many horsepower this beast is. ???
ОтветитьSo cool. Diesels rock!
ОтветитьUP donated this loco. Will it ever travel around the country again or just stuck in town??
ОтветитьThe trucks must be specially designed to negotiate the curves.
ОтветитьIs this 2stroke engine
Ответить4 axle in one bogie?
ОтветитьUpgraded SD70M-2
ОтветитьWhich country
ОтветитьI believe a person who stands 7ft should walk inside of the cab too
ОтветитьCan't wait to see the centennial in the Silvis shops back in action
ОтветитьSadly, Union Pacific Railroad without approval of the shareholders gave this engine Challenger 3985 and another steam engine away. Just wrong!
ОтветитьHoly Cow !!!!
It is HUGE !!!!!
My Favorite locomotive! Such an awesome honor to see one working and sounding perfect!
ОтветитьTime to get out the old track straightener ....
ОтветитьLike the horn
ОтветитьI'm impressed but still in love with the Big Boy. 😊
ОтветитьImagine that paired up behind the 4014!!
ОтветитьBest SOund Like That!
ОтветитьReally good catch. Im a new subscriber. Greetings from Port Saint Lucie, Florida ! I also watch Roman's Milwaukee Roads train videos, he films in Wisconsin covering Wisconsin and Southern railroad and others.
ОтветитьThe engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954, they got computers"n" diesels "n" things but engineers. Don't wave from the trains
ОтветитьTo see the engines work, go to the Moffatt tunnell on the west side of Berthoud pass in Colorado. Watch the coal trains going west as they climb the continental divide.
ОтветитьSD 40s?
ОтветитьTrainz Simulator: DD40X Review!
ОтветитьWhen steam enthusiaths look at diesel wheels:
:Oh look an 0-8-8-0 articulated diesel😇😛😜😙😁🤨😐😄🤑
Begob, I remember visiting the Cheyenne turntable in 1957, my grandfather worked there for 40 years.
Ответитьi remember being at a train crossing in Australia with the iron ore locos in port hedland and when it past me the ground was shaking really bad. it was impressive and ive never forgotten it. it was a fucking long heavy train! it just made trucks look pathetic and wasteful.
Ответитьit has two engines ?!!
ОтветитьWow ! How much does that beast weigh ?
ОтветитьThis thing is literally 2 sd40 into one
ОтветитьSo this is essentially two locos on one frame, hence the gap in the centre.
How long is it? A passenger coaches about 20m so I guess it’s about 25-30m long.
I find it interesting that it needs to rev up quite a bit to get moving.
Usually idle power should be enough to get it creeping slowly.
It's interesting to see a railroad turntable in action. I didn't think that there many of them left.
ОтветитьThat loco is a beast
ОтветитьThat's one big mother of a Locomotive ,Size is everything looking at this big behemoth of a beast of US Traction 😮Wow ❤️❤️🇬🇧❤🇺🇲
ОтветитьShe's a beauty.
ОтветитьThis steel beast brought to you buy fragile squishy little humans
ОтветитьThe sound of the engine almost drowns out the horn!
ОтветитьSad..miss that big girl
ОтветитьSo that's the world's largest diesel locomotive to remind wow you know Pacific is getting lucky In 2019
ОтветитьIt's very beautiful.
ОтветитьYOU BETTER BELIVE IT!SHE IS STILL A CLASSIC DIESEL!AND FOR HER TO STILL BE RUNNING AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, IS TRULY AMAZING! SHE LOOKS GREAT ,AND SHE SOUNDS GREAT,TOO!
ОтветитьThis unit is no housed in the shop i work at. It has a few issues so i'm going to get to fix them. I hope my boss and i get to test her out on the fast track
ОтветитьJust to put into perspective how large this diesel is: the Cheyenne turntable is built for Challengers and can handle Big Boys as well.
ОтветитьMostly diesel loco fleets and still using turn tables, us is actually in the stone age of railways
ОтветитьI just want to see it paired with the big boy on a train
ОтветитьAlways wondered what those short little air hissing noises are. All modern diesel locomotives seem to make them at low speeds.
ОтветитьThis is a very impressive diesel locomotive model, the DDA40X is the largest diesel locomotive ever constructed and produces the highest amount of horsepower of any single diesel unit at 6600 hp. Union Pacific rr had an impressive roster of historic steam/ diesel locomotives that were large in size and power output, which made them a unique & interesting railroad company.
