I grew up in the Ozarks, "bout" 7 miles east of Springfield, MO, close to a place called Turner(s) MO. My dad (who also grew up in the area) used the "Dad Gum It" until the day he died at age 98. I worked hard to rid myself of the accent after I moved to California in 1968, mostly because I grew tired of people asking me if I was an "Okie". Also needed to correct my English, needed to rid myself of saying "I bin there" instead of "I was there". I recognize those phrases.

Julia Garner was a horrible actress, and she trashed her role with the F word every other sentence, but Jason Bateman, and Laura Linney were beyond impressive.

This is funny & strange at that same time for us southern folk 😄 could offer a few more "unheard" of sayings to add to it but I'm sure there is some or maybe a lot who wouldn't understand it. Proud to be country!!

Ozark is the best show I've watched in years. As usual I was late to the party, but that meant I could watch every episode and season straight through. I'm a big fan of Bateman and Linney, but I think a lot of commenters agree with me that Ruth stole the show. Julia handled the complexities and nuances of her character incredibly and kept me riveted so much I sometimes watched several episodes in one sitting.
