Recently replaced my camera unit on my pixel 6 pro (bought brand new on launch). I was quite surprised to find that I did not have that large ribbon cable connector across my battery 🤔

I can't use my camera on my pixel 6 pro does anyone hv any idea how to fix it ??

Hello Hugh Jeffery’s I watch your videos all the time and I’m a big fan of your channel.

I would like to request a how to video on the google pixel 6 us version. And how you install the screen adhesive after purchasing both the screen and adhesive from ifixit.


The reason why I ask if because I attempted to fix my phone and the the had screen problem and she. I removed the screen with out the frame and thought that it would be easy to install new one with the new adhesive but it was difficult.

Good job Google Providing the tool to fix the fingerprint sensor or any part should be mandatory, in my opinion.

I don't see how you can call this a teardown much kess a complete teardown when you are not removing and replacing what is connected to the front glass.

After watching this I feel like it’s made my day. Brought this phone with a broken screen for £50 so knowing I can actually recalibrate the fingerprint with ease is a blessing

When my microphone quit on my 14mo old Pixel 6, FixIt said can't fix it. Why? Microphone soldered onto logic board. No separate part# for microphone. Fix it est $400+. Google direct repair est if I send it to them for repair: $475.

Anyone worked out how to fix that stinking Samsung antenna signal.?

Hello, thank you for this tutorial. I fixit's video shows a coper foil on the back of the phone that attached to the 5g antennae on the top. They show it being peeled back. It is so thin and the adhesive doesn't let it be removed without falling apart. Replacement cameras do not include this foil. What do you recommend? I found copper foil tape for electronics, but they are much thicker and I am not sure if the underside of the foil should be conductive or not, it is available in both.

Doesn't anyone think the tensor chip being without branding or marking worry anyone????? I've never seen a processor or micro controller without branding on a flagship phone (or any name brand equipment).. they generally make damn sure it's branded so it's clear who's property it is.. in fact chips without marking are usually not genuine or not bought through the same channels as the ones with markings. Even apple brands their chips...

Does the fingerprint calibration process include any validation at all for the original owner? I mean, would that be a security loophole that allows someone else from replacing the fingerprint reader and unlocking the phone. Sorry it wasn’t clear from your video.

I just upgraded from my Google Pixel 3XL and switched to Samsung. I got the Galaxy S22 Ultra. I can't believe that the Pixel is going in the direction it is, with respect to repairs. This brand was the brand for tech savvy people. I used to be one... And even started my channel around that phone, and others like it. Google is trying too hard to be like Apple and that's the wrong direction for this brand, in my opinion. It's still a great phone for now but I fear for it's future. It's trying too hard to be an Apple phone.

I really don't like the camera design on the Pixel 6, I also don't like how square it is

My pixel 3 bricked itself so I ordered one of these. I love how much easier this phone is to replace the screen compared to the Pixel 3. Also, internally, this phone looks beautiful.

biggest problem is the USB C port solder. That is one thing that will fail 5 years later. Gauranteed.

Awesome. So happy to see that Google has provided the ability to recalibrate the fingerprint sensor. I just got one of these phones as the recommendation from AT&T after telling then that Samsung and Apple were out of the question. I am very impressed with the performance of it and can't complain at all. This allays one of my fears I had.

The phone's internals should be always modular and removable and replaceable.... but software lock to lock in the hardware is recalibratable....it's good to see they Corrected the display removal problem they had

Make me understand why Pixel 6 is 44000 rs in India but 6a will release at 44444 rs.. and pixel 5 is 47000 rs 🤡🤣🤣🤣

Wow it’s scary to think that someone could hack all your phone data by changing the fingerprint sensor and resetting it. iPhone all the way for me.

Genuine question, what would be a bigger factor behind soldering the charger port, deliberately making it harder to repair or reinforcing a fairly flimsy part?

Missing the days when changing that phone battery didn't require 200 USD in tools.

rest assured, despite it being awesome that google allows self repair, if or when they corner the market like apple has, they'll likely lock it down in a similar way

Serialisation should be done for quality control purpose, not anti repair. Google's method of locking components is the proper way to do so. Well done google

Hello, thans for the great information, I live in latinoamerica, and I got a pixel from USA, and I didnt got the protector, 😒 This one fell off and the ink ran until I put the black screen, eh looked here how to replace it and acquire the spare parts, but I can not find them, I would like to know if you have information where I could buy it and that they can send me to Honduras. Also, once all parts back together, is the phone still waterproof??

are you sure its meant to be a pull tab ? cause it looks more like a slize tab, slide it along the side to cut the adhesive free

Kudos to Google for allowing that, every Nexus and Pixel I've owned has had an unlocked bootloader out of the box too which is refreshing.

No need to open two same device
