This is about more than solving the issue of immigration, it is plain and simple using immigration for political granstanding. The republicans have repeatedly backed off of bi-partisan negotiations on immigration, because they are not interested in solving the problem, but only using this as a wedge issue. What about this suggesion - give Texas back to Mexico since we took it from them anyway... and then Governor Abbot will not have an immigrationi issue at all!! In order for a reasonable and effective immigration policy to be put in place, it has to be a bi-partisan solution.
