I feel like most people are misinterpreting Pickle, like he's just some friendly dude just chilling. I feel like the show, at least, makes it clear that he's actually quite similar to everyone else in the cast. Like he goes out of his way to hunt and kill only those strong enough to actually potentially kill him. Everything else he doesn't bother with. To Pickle, you're either nothing, food, a plaything, or in Baki's case: a friend. They explain Pickle's mentality several times, and they always mention that he's also wanting a strong opponent (him hunting a T-Rex WASN'T just for food, but it was also for his pride as a fighter). So while it would seem like Pickle just wanted a friend, to me it was more like he wanted a plaything at first when he was lightly tapping Baki's face. It was only during the actual fight that Baki proved himself to be a friend, someone on equal footing as himself BUT who wasn't outright competing for food or territory. The entire Baki vs. Pickle fight is a "dialogue" between the two, with Baki being the FIRST ONE who was actually trying to communicate rather than just survive, and the message from Baki was "Hey, we can just fight. Not for food, not to the death, just fight and see who's better."

So I feel like Pickle isn't some innocent thing coming out of an ice coma. He's exactly like the other crazy prideful fighters, it's just that Baki is the first who managed to communicate to him the differences of modern day.

For those confused. Pickle didnt want to fight baki. He treated him as a friend which pissed baki off because pickle went full force against everyone else that attacked him. This led to baki abusing pickle to the point he broke down and considered baki a real enemy trying to kill him. Baki calls himself pickles friend at the end but pickle no longer felt the same. Baki is becoming like his father every day to where he is just going raise his son to be a brute as well. Im glad his gf disappeared from the series. He doesnt deserve her.
