BREAKING: Kamala Harris' Vice President FINAL SHORT LIST REVEALED.....

It is being reported by Bloomberg that defacto Democratic nominee Kamala Harris' short-list for vice president has been revealed. After a long list of nearly 10 potential candidates, including Pete Buttigieg and Gretchen Whitmer, it has now been narrowed down to just three people:
Senator of Arizona Mark Kelly, Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro, and Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz. Mark Kelly has issues with unions and is losing in a poll against Donald Trump in the presidential election in Arizona, not bringing much to the table. Tim Walz has the highest progressive bona fides, delivering on a lot of policy with a small majority in Minnesota. However, the potential for him to bring out young voters that won't already come out is likely limited. Josh Shapiro is polling amazing in THE swing state, Pennsylvania, but unfortunately he is the most conservative of the three, with some concerns being his response to protests of israel/palestine as well as a school voucher program. He vetoed the voucher program bill when it came to his desk, and he is not a fan of Netanyahu, so it is not as clean cut as he's just a super conservative.

However, as now the vice president is the de facto successor in the democratic crown royal line, we must take that into consideration. Otherwise, Shapiro is the easy pick. This makes the pick quite difficult. Mark Kelly is easy to eliminate, but the others are more difficult.

The more I see of all of them, the more I'm convinced that Walz is the best choice!

I think Shapiro is going to win you the state anyway so you might as well go with Walz. He's a great on tv, authoritative, hes a good front man, which important because Harris is still in office right now as Biden's VP, Tim can say anything the campaign needs.

I live in Arizona and idk why Kelly is in the running.. its not like he's super popular or well known even in AZ. Arizonans are not going to go vote Dem just because kelly is on the ticket. Plus i think it is unwise to pick a senator instead of a governor.

Kelly: Not great, but not that bad a choice. However, Dems really can't afford to risk the Senate. The Senate is basically a lost cause this cycle due to the lack of really any winnable seats and the amount of money needed for the defense. Opening another competitive seat this cycle would be Idiotic.

Shapiro: Worst Choice. It would be really dumb to pick him solely to 'lock down' PA. Even his one 'advantage' would be nullified if other battlegrounds are lost from depressed youth vote. Ask Hilary how depressing young voters by basically spitting in Bernie's face did for her and how she became Presid- Oh wait!

Walz: I think he's the most logical. Very well approved of, has worked miracles in Minneasota, would probably guarantee Minneasota, making ad buys less necessary there. He has already scorched JD Vance and gave us the "These guys are just weird" quote already.

Harris needs to not make the same mistakes as Hilary and go with the guy who would excite young voters. Simple as.

As a Pennsylvania, I think calling us a swing state is generous. The vast majority of our population is in Philly and Pittsburgh which pretty solid blue, the rest of the state is farm land. PA only went red in 2016 because a lot of working class Pittsburgh folks wanted to give Trump a shot, but realized within a year he was full of shit.

The thing with Walz is his stellar record, that he accomplished with a 1 seat majority. Free school lunches and workers rights does well with moderate and suburban moms. Also, his messenging is sooo articulate. Seeing him talking on these networks, he does wonderful. He makes Vance and Trump look so stupid.

Apparently Unions are lobbying against Kelly. I think the geographic math also works against him. He's a cool guy, but he's the wrong guy. I totally agree with your assessment. Shapiro is probably the safest bet, though the Israel issue might hurt with young progressives. I hope it's Walz, but I'd be happy either way.

Mark Kelly is definitely better national name recognition, yet doesn't have any known views on foreign affairs that would be controversial or turn away voting groups. In the current moment he is more of a unity candidate that is needed. From electability standpoint it doesn't matter what his views are, we would rather have a white, hetero, male, middle of the road, blank slate semi celebrity in the party from a swing state... than a divider. Shapiro's views on Israel Gaza will divide the party. We may even lose voters from key minority groups that pulled Pennsylvania from the depths of redness in 2020... it was AA voters in Philly that pulled us accross the finish line and surely he lust support there. He is a superb gov and gifted orator. Frankly his presence is stronger than hers (which may overshadow her) yet he has no name recognition outside pa and may only be suited as a leader when she is better nationally anyway. He won't help anywhere other than PA. It's also notable that he is bad on education. But to circle back... At this stage, almost a year after Oct 7 the support for Israel from dems is clearly crumbling and having a leader that is outspoken on that topic will hurt eligibility outside of PA- namely Michigan where 100k voters took the energy to WRITE IN uncommitted in the primaries which quite frankly should be a chilling sign to the dem elite that the electorate is not F'ing around up there. They need to tread lightly and listen up. Supporting Israel wins US very little at this point... And risks very little gain... While if we play this right with kamala, we could be looking at a VERY rare chance to correct the path and win back voters. Also...

While were at it, Don't pick a super progressive dude, a woman, a gay guy, or anything else the centrists will struggle with either. Mark Kelly's appeal is nationwide... Does his knowledge and experience as an astronaut and senator suit him to be vp or future president? Absolutely not... Do we care now? No... Lets just win this thing, guys.

Long story short.. DONT pick Shapiro for VP, he's better here in PA

Just my opinion, of course
