that nordvpn openvpn/wireguard side-by-side seems really suspicious, does openvpn really have an overhead of 50%? such a dramatic difference in speed just sounds like throttling to me

Soooooo why did you completely ignore talking about the risks? We use VPN's not for speed; though that is important while using one. We use VPN's for their privacy and security! These are the most important things when using a VPN and its protocols. We need to understand what the benefits are of OpenVPN over Wireguard and vice versa, not just showing us that Wireguard is faster. Who cares about speed if your privacy is not secure? This seemed more like an ad for Wireguard than an actual informative comparison.
