How bad is a $95 3D Printer??

To spend the extra $50 on an ender 3. People use that to print the guns out of PLA plus. And yes they shoot actual bullets without going boom. I'd only do that is shtf worl teotwawki and the declare martial law and they will not come for me because they don't know I have it until I have to use it. you may not have the auto bed leveler. It will still get the job done. And I've actually printed a benchy and turned out to bring them good for $150. The only downside is that with Chinese products you get Chinese quality control but it's cheap and easy to fix. Dealing with an Allen key which is included and a screwdriver can fix it. If I had the $500 I'd get a prusa. That's what they use at my job when they printed things. Of course I'm not that rich. Do you keep in mind you can only do ABS and the PLA but if you have the extra $50 you can easily upgrade it to do things like at PTC and nylon but of course with nylon, you need a dry enclosure and you also want do you have it in your garage somewhere because the fumes from nylon are noxious or at least printing a well-ventilated area

I bought this for my 11 year old for Christmas and he loves it. I think this is perfect for that age group and they just want to make funky toys to play with. He has made 3 so far of the same character. Tomorrow we are trying a new 3d item for his little sister. The ad that I saw was marketed for kids which I think is a great audience since it is easy to set up and easy to find 3d items on their site. The cons are mostly the time it takes. Each of the items has taken about 4.5 hours to create. My expectations were really low on this one so I would say it did exceed those. LOL!

Ender 3 is 100 tho…

Why not set a minimal layer time so each layer has time to cool.

To be honest: I buy this for my son as he was very curious about 3D printing. I was amazed how much projects we develop on this "garbage". At all this is not a garbage if you know how to use it. We build holders for electronics, enclosures for small projects. Our printer have a material cooling and i must tell that I am pretty amazed what possibilities we get in this price. Now son is 10 years old and he teach Fusion360 very well so today we ordered a new printer from Anycubic. I think I give Easythreed to my friend son so he can try some 3D printing.

I would recomend the artillery sidewinder x1/x2 its quite cheap but an exzellent printer

seems like a good design strategy would be to design the G-code to run from outside to inside and around.............or hollow objects to keep from clumping.🤔 I'm tempted to buy one.

you should have used the settings for cura in the sd card, I just bought it, printed a bunch of stuff with that settings and it works pretty good!

I started with this little printer and after a short while I had the settings just right to 3D print all kinds of items for modeling trains. I used this printer to learn 3D printing methods and upgraded to an Ender 3 v2.

I think this would be perfect for 3D printing custom mod parts for retro consoles.

It's prefect for people who are only starting in the 3d printing game, like me

Help! I need some pointers guys!
Just bought a cheap printer to play about with.
While I'm very familiar with CNC routers, I've never messed with a printer before.
That's why I got a cheapy to learn and play with, and if I bugger it up making every mistake in the book it's not the end of the world!

The first thing that surprised me....ya don't get software!!
WTF??
I was expecting something similar to the machining software included with CNC mills and routers!
e.g. Vectric V-Carve & Cut3D.
(Damn it's come a long way! I remember having to write hundreds of lines of raw g-code manually, just to write a basic point-to-point borer program!)

What's this "Slicer" software I'm hearing about? Am I right in understanding that's what I would equate to a "toolpath generator"?

Anyway, where's a good starting point to design and create some basic shapes to start with?
Something simple like a replacement knob for the camp stove for example.
- something I could do in a heartbeat with the milling software!

(Interestingly, both machines use g-code....but they are polar opposites! One builds up points in space, the other removes points!)

Or just wait for it to go on sale and get an ender 3 for $120 lol

Sovol Sv06 is the new boss of budget 3D printers, A Prusa Mk 3 but 1/3 the price or here down under quarter the price. I print at between 75 and 100 mm / sec without input shaping with no issues straight out of the box.

Im planning to get this with a mini fan to help cool the filament coming out, maybe the quality will be better?

paid $265 canadian for my elegoo neptune 2s, and i wouldn't recommend going any cheaper than that if you want a proper 3d printer that's useful for more than just little decorative items.

Hey! I know this one!

If you have a 3D input device like a 3DConnexion SpaceMouse or something similar connected to the computer you're using, Unity games will all do that "constantly scrolling up" thing.

It's because the 3DConnexion drivers confuse the Unity input manager, and Unity thinks you're giving a constant up-axis input if a 3D mouse driver is running in the background.
Stopping the driver by terminating the 3DxWare exe fixes this problem in most cases. And then when you're ready to use the 3D mouse just start it back up again.

id recommend a creality ender 3, just got one and out of the box benchy was pretty good. for slicing i use the ultimaker cura software
