sweet magnolias - mark rubel, in memorium (march 8, 2024)

now he is everywhere...

I just don't even know what to say. Mark Rubel was so heavily on my mind yesterday...i sent him a simple silly text like we would do but never heard back. he was such a beautiful human and my life is richer because of him. we spent many hours together and i would always look forward to time spent with him. i'm so sorry he's gone...now he is everywhere. love you brother...i miss you already.

This recording was done on an Edison 'wax cylinder' at Blackbird Academy in Nashville. Mark always had something up his sleeve and he would reach out and involve me when he thought i'd be into it...Sweet Magnolias is the tune. He recorded a number of things for me and he also mixed a few of my records. He was amazing on every level and we would gather when we could.
