wow this made me hate stan lee lol
ОтветитьIt started well with an interesting concept but went off the rails when they extended it due to its popularity. At least we got Ben Reilly and Kaine out of it.
ОтветитьMaxassmum clone ass
Ответить((short version)) "they milked that shit..." I wonder what people older than us tweeners thought abt bringing back Norman Osborn. We'd never seen him outside of flashbacks
ОтветитьStill have my copy of Maximum Clonage, as well as some of the issues with Kane, the cool John Romita Jr mini series with Ben Riley and of course, Amazing Spiderman 400. Also, the Scarlet Spider #1, web of Scarlet Spider and Spectacular Scarlet Spider. I thought they would be worth as much as my X-Men comics lol...NOPE but they sure looked cool in my collection
Ответитьoh wow!!!!
ОтветитьSo the real villain all along were Scalpers
ОтветитьGood stuff
ОтветитьI'll admit the time loop idea does sound like a useful way to explain how Ben survived this body getting dumped in a furnace after the 70s Clone Saga. Then again, I've not read the Clone Saga, so I don't know how that can of worms was addressed.
ОтветитьThe Clone Saga is the exact moment Marvel went to crap.
ОтветитьSorry but Terry's idea was stupid. Characters grow.
ОтветитьThey should have pulled a Jason Todd and let the fans vote over which Spider-Man was the real one. That way, the writers didn't have to settle on one ending or the other.
ОтветитьCan anyone fix the clone saga, please. Like comment down below how would you undo the mess.
ОтветитьI think one of the best tie in to the story was how do we end the clone saga
ОтветитьThis saga could've been something special.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea even originally but still a neat history point for Spider-Man.
But nope... it all just went down in a tailspin and made everyone hate comic books more.

I've basically been binging Nerdsync videos and never had I realized that Scott had Scott Pilgrim's scribble of Ramona on his shelf.
ОтветитьHair Scott. What a time to be alive.
ОтветитьRevisiting old Nerd Sync is W E I R D.
ОтветитьAgreed
ОтветитьI would have never liked Ben taking over permanently for Peter
ОтветитьBecause they had Peter Parker de-evolve into a wife beater. Honestly I was buying all four Spider-Man titles, and the quarterly. Then they did the stunt with all of the titles becoming Scarlet Spider rather than Spider-Man. Genius. All they had to do with that point was reinstate the Spider-Man titles after a short period, and they would have doubled their money from me. But they didn't do that, they made it over long and convoluted, and tried to manipulate people into hating Peter Parker, which was incredibly short-sighted of them. Their thinking was having more than one spider character dilutes the brand (where is that thinking today lol). I really enjoyed the original take on Ben Reilly, before JM DeMatteis filled in the blanks. That's my personal take of course, I recognize that he was trying to make him into a different person than Peter Parker and tried to infuse edgier elements, and a lot of people really likes those aspects. Anyway, the best thing to come out of the clone saga was Tom DeFalco's Spider-Girl series.
ОтветитьJust thinking of a child of Spider-Man would have been a selling point as you could play on the mutated dna and how it could effect his kid would he have the same powers or just be more super human or just naturally be peak human characteristics. That’s what I’d think of at least
ОтветитьExcept Age of Apocalypse was pretty much amazing and is still considered a classic, lol
ОтветитьTL;DR:
Ben Reilly good, Clone Saga baaaaaad
Thank god the 'Real Clone Saga' comic exists, amirite?
They need to stop being scared of fan reactions- the fans prove over and over that they dont know what they like.
Originally people hated the idea of his black suit! People actually love it! Fuck what the fans think they like, they clearly have no idea.
I NEED to know these music sources
ОтветитьI got the spiderman clone saga free with marvel points so I may check it out
ОтветитьI didn’t like it from the very beginning. The very concept was angering.
ОтветитьI was reading all four spider man books at the time. The clone saga is the series that got me out of comics as a kid. I hated it. It was the beginning of the destruction of all that I liked about the comic characters that I grew up with.
Ответить👍🏻
ОтветитьWayy to drawn out…. They should’ve executed Order 66 a long time ago.
Oh wait.
Harry Osborn revealed to be the true mastermind behind a bunch of Spider-Man stories
Funny how that worked out
Who’s here needing a refresher before Ben becomes Spider-Man again after the spencer run
ОтветитьHey- Steven Butler here- I was one of the artists on the Clone Saga back in the day- just watched your video and enjoyed it a lot!
Ответить"Mary Jane would have a miscarriage"
... Is this loss?
tfw you've never even heard of this but just like watching these videos.
Ответитьfor some reason I imagine one person pitched "the death of spiderman" and in an alternate universe that was one of spiderman's biggest arcs
ОтветитьI was a huge fan of this crossover. I didn't know certain writers were so against it from the beginning. I've actually become a bigger Xmen fan than Spiderman since reading a lot of the books starting with Bishop's Crossing through Onslaught. The Clone Saga almost seems like an afterthought now compared to that whole X-Men Traitor storyline. Your video sheds new light on the whole Clone Saga I didn't know about. Thanks for posting this.
ОтветитьI vote for gree shirt, no tie, air head scot clone to stay around. His general helplessness and innocence is adorable.
ОтветитьSomehow Kain wasn't even mentioned on this piece.
ОтветитьI was expecting a WandaVision joke after he said Mephisto but then i remembered when this was released.
ОтветитьBen Reilly was the only good part of the clone saga and btw is he still alive or is he dead
Ответить♫ Budiansky cannot be left alone to his devices
Indecisive from crisis to crisis ♫
I guess the Clone Saga isn't so bad after all, because the twist and turns of the stories can make audiences tuned in, ofc if it's only not too complicated.
Ответитьinstant like for the clone that quietly says "I'm not wearing one"
