He absolutely needs to be gone! It reminds me of when i was in paramedic school and for students who were not being professional or learning. The instructor would say, "This is not a game we play." Not everyone is cut out for 911. Just like, not everyone is cut out for ATC. TY ❤

I’m noticing a degradation of performance, attitude, goodwill, professionalism in all industries. A particular concern where life is at risk. Flying, healthcare, law enforcement, military. Just look at recent plane crashes and in healthcare there are many buried skeletons. It’s widespread and it falls on policies and values that come from the top. Not the workers fault.

I used to live by an US Air Force base. We would be buzzed by aircraft virtually every day, at every hour. The people at our apartment complex sent a complaint, asking why the pilots had to be flying at 0300 Hours over their apartments.

The pilot offered the controller an easy out by leaving the pattern. The controller wanted to make this into a problem.

By the way, it's NASCAR pattern, not race track pattern, lol. Nascar only turns in one direction in an oval, a real racetrack has different types and angles of turns!

I'm vindicated - MAGA Republicans suck. This is clearly San Carlos Airport on the San Francisco Peninsula. Incoming traffic to SFO is just further out over the bay. There was a huge flap over this airport and its ATC people just recently, which was at the same time Musk and Trump were doing their hatchet job on Federal ATC jobs. I defended the need for ATC people to be working this airport, just FOR THIS EXACT REASON. MAGA morons chimed in and said, "oh no. These pilots have lots of experience and they know what they're doing. Pilots land without ATC all the time. Times have changed; blah, blah, blah". Well, MAGA morons, the proof is in the pudding. Here you go, and there have been some instances of modern day pilots from San Carols drifting over the bay, and getting themselves into restricted air space. There's also small plane traffic flying all around from Palo Alto, located just a few miles south of San Carlos. This is a busy corridor, and San Carlos needs ATC people. Get over yourselves and your new austerity kick. If you want to cut many billions of dollars some place, look no further than into the secret 'black projects' that are not accounted for on anybody's books, except in restricted data bases at the Pentagon, and a few 'need to know only' memorandums being walked around those hallways. Congress never sees any of that stuff, so it's never discussed - by anybody!

Pilot should have said "Going Around" and if asked why he could have said "Not stabilized on approach". He could have done this all day. This sounds like the same contoller you talked about on another video.

The ATC sounds pissed off at his company because he’s ended up working alone for eight hours. Then he uses that as an excuse for being inappropriately rude with what he knows is a student pilot being supervised by an instructor.

His aggression is misplaced, but even when he realizes that he’s gone too far, he still defends his actions by blaming his employer.

Although I can understand his frustration, his responses to the student pilot were totally inappropriate. So I totally agree that that’s where the blame lies here.

I can only imagine the effect this had on the student pilot. Not good.

If I were the student, I would be asking myself, “If this is what’s going to happen to me each time I try to fly again, do I really want to keep flying?”

I might even ask myself, “What would’ve happened if my instructor hadn’t been here with me? Is this the way it is all the time with flying a small plane—maybe I really don’t want to do this anymore.”

And although losing one student pilot is not going to make or break the industry, it’s still wrong because the ATC is teaching this student pilot that the ATC does not have his back.

The instructor will be impacted if he loses this student because ofthis incident. Lots of time, money, and public relations will be wasted because of this inappropriately harsh response by the ATC.

I am not a pilot, but based on my limited understanding of aviation, it sounds like the pilot is saying "I can't see the other airplane," and the controller is saying "It would be too much work for me to help you stay away from the other airplane." Isn't helping airplanes maintain a safe distance from other airplanes literally EXACTLY what ATC's job is? If it's "too much work" for him to help the pilot maintain a safe distance from other aircraft, then what exactly is he being paid to do?

Agree, it can be very stressful for a student pilot in a busy circuit (pattern). I know it must be frustrating being ATC at a GA airfield but this controller is not helping and to be honest verging on unprofessional/dangerous.....and yes we have a lot of noise abailtment here in the UK which makes an approach even more complex/dangerous...why oh why do people live near an airfield then complain about noise from aircraft. It escapes me how entitled people are nowadays.

I’m an AME and if I was ATC I would have spaced the aircraft out. After all these student pilots don’t mind as it’s less stressful on them .
Also as students you want to increase your flying hours as quickly as possible. Now 3 or 4 Kelsey pilots that may have been airborne for many hours want to land as early and safely as possible. ATC controller get another job.

@Moonbox_Jones

I never had access to atc recordings and there was never a "button" or anything else to use to "mark" said place in a recording. Normally theres only 1-5 people who can access those records. It's kind of a fail safe incase an air traffic controller does something wrong they can't go and delete it.

It is a very stressful job, that doesn't mean he's right, but we are all human. This guy probably does very little air traffic control to be honest, its most likely an extremely slow airfield and that's why he's alone. To be fair, it's literally the hardest job to get in America with a failure rate from the beginning to end (to include the flight physical) of around 98%. There's a total of 14,000 air traffic controllers (including trainees) in america, for reference becoming a doctor is considered hard and there's hundreds of thousands of them in america.
