Thanks man. You just gave me some others idea's..
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI am not a very good angler, and have caught very few fish (in Australia) on soft plastics. Always thought the spade tail grub looked like a good lure, is anyone catching fish on these?
ОтветитьVery cool, thanks!
Ответитьthat looks mean and efficient... but why cant i keep the full jighead hook as well? or does it get in the way of the treble?
ОтветитьOkay clearly I'm just stupid but wouldn't the head just pull right out of the body of the lure then there's nothing holding it in?
ОтветитьThanks for making us better fishermen and fisherwomen Randy! Appreciated.
ОтветитьHow does it not just pull the jig head out of the swim bait
ОтветитьThis seemed sooooo over complicated
ОтветитьGreat tip. You can also trim a bit off the top of the bait, which will allow the hook sit lower on the bait.
Ответить6th sense fishing made a treble head line through jig head not too long ago.
ОтветитьGreat tip! Haven’t been able to get it tied yet but will keep trying
Ответитьlooks like it'll get snagged on every damn thing
ОтветитьThis is called Jagging. Not legal or sporting.
Ответить👍✅❤️
ОтветитьYou can just add a stinger hook on the jig without cutting the original hook off too.
ОтветитьToo much work
ОтветитьI just use a stinger but thts interesting
ОтветитьGreat information 😊
ОтветитьYup. Works well up here in New Hampshire
ОтветитьSmall stinger added to the jig just my opinion
Good idea to use with out the jig
Much easier to just downsize the bait for short strikers.
ОтветитьI’m gonna have to try this, but leave the jig. Head hook also.
ОтветитьAnd how many swimbaits do you go through in a day? Seems like you would lose 1 per fish
ОтветитьLonger shank jig?
ОтветитьI’ve done this but used jig head as intended and to get the hook farther down I will add a trailer hook instead of a treble.
ОтветитьNo way. Bass aren’t having a hard time hitting a 4” mullet enough to hack a jig into a less useful piece of tackle.
ОтветитьThen I'd glue the head on inside the body !!!!!!!
ОтветитьAwesome channel. Practical to learn
ОтветитьI fish paddle tails all season. Adding a stinger has only caused me issues. That rig he’s making is only applicable to 5” or bigger. The best swim baits are keitechs and adding a stinger hurts the action, along with using any jig with a stiff hook or bigger than a 1/0. I’m talking saugers and walleye from 5” to walleyes over 10lbs. If bass are short striking you have issues.
ОтветитьCould you run your main line (or fine wire) straight through the eye of the jig head and hold the 'hook' length in place with line stops? this then becomes adjustable and also you have less knots as weak points.
ОтветитьWon’t you lose the plastic swimbait? Since the hook is cut off . Just the straight post is in the swimbait . Seems it will come off very easily. Or am I missing something.
ОтветитьUse a picasso dummy head and you loose less swimbaits.
ОтветитьThat doesn’t even make sense , why ? Because the head of hook that you cut off will not stay in the plastic lure , that head of the hook it will come out because theirs nothing holding it in the plastic lures now that you cut the hook off ,and their for you lose your plastic lure ! That’s really stupid !!!
ОтветитьThis also frees up more of the action of the lure. The hook Shank will stiffen the action of the lure. By removing the hook shank you've got more plastic that can flex giving the lure more action.
ОтветитьThat’s a cool tip. Many Thanks
ОтветитьOk, Im no pro here, but doesnt that hook help keep the lure on the hook?? 🤔
Once you cut it off… what prevents that thing from slipping off the hook now 🤷♂️
Why not just tie a stinger to the hook? Might save someones eye when cutting that hook. Then what 🤷♂️ throw the cut-off hook in the water for a fish to maybe eat it before it hits the bottom??
Not the best “pro tip” Ive ever seen, but the idea is cool…
The jig head is going to come off on the first cast
ОтветитьUse longer shanks
ОтветитьJust cut the bait smaller
ОтветитьI imagine it would benefit keeping the jig head intact with a hook and the treble hook in the back?
ОтветитьEasier way is to tie the treble to the jig head
ОтветитьI fish around a lot of reeds, where snags are a concern. I increased my swimbait bites and decreased lost baits, by switching to a 1/4 oz. underbelly spin, on 10# fluorocarbon. Fooling the heck out of the pressured fish around here...
ОтветитьShort strikes are a big problem. Your method seems like you will be replacing
the swim bait more often. There is nothing to hold the swimbait once the
treble hook is easily pulled from the lure.
...I use a single hook and run it through the soft plastic lure closer to the tail.
This has increased catches 100%. A single hook has less water resistance
and gives the lure better action.
...That's my 2 cents, but I am sure your method works.
Thank you Sir, this seems like a great concept.
ОтветитьAwesome video thanks
ОтветитьWhile this method may work for small fish, I believe there is a high risk of line breakage when dealing with larger fish. Furthermore, using treble hooks may weaken the snag-free effect, leading to increased trouble with snagging and other issues. Using a wire or braided line in place of the fluorocarbon line could provide some added strength. However, the best way to reduce short bites is to use assist hooks for spinnerbaits or buzz baits without cutting the single hook, which is the easiest and most effective method without compromising strength. Please give it a try.
Ответить2/3 or 3/4 I’m confused. Thanks
ОтветитьI've done this but added the stinger hook to the main jig head hook just like rigging a spinner bait
Ответитьhuh whats to stop you from loosing the bait with this rig up? seems like only thing holding it together is the hook and the s mall tip from the jighead ,i can see it popping off even when casting not just when you get a strike, better to juts add the trailer hook and leave it at that
Ответить
