I have one, the stick mode is trash. I do everything in Tig mode. Even 6010. Actually me and a buddy built him a new welding bed with it off 110v with 6010 because we were in a residential area and didn't want the neighbors to call in noise complaints. Initially I was disapointed but I've adapted to it.

I’m sorta narrowing my choices. I want to learn stick, have mostly small self projects. I was leaning towards the esab 180 ($600), someone suggested the everlasting 200.
Can I get your opinion on which one you think is the best at the $400-$700 range? Thinking they’re all good, but your opinion, the very best.
Esab rogue 180,,,,, everlast 200,,,,, Lincoln (don’t know equivalent model),,,,,, Miller thunderbolt 160,,,,,, Miller thunderbolt 180
I’ve seen you use a lot of them, your opinion would help a lot. Thanks!
Seen vids on the esab rebel and the fronius transpocket 180. Those two seem above all at the $1200 range, problem is ...the $1200!
I was leaning towards the rogue and everlast. Only $200 difference. But got to draw the line somewhere. Thanks for your vids!

The new version I have just has a button for the 6010 and it’s a good machine and works. Haven’t had an issue with the machine, only my generator which can’t keep up with this welder. 5k generator and this little guy is pulling it down till it dies. Wish I could really try this bad boy out at 200!

I have the first gen of this machine (minus the "ST") which does stick only. I like it, and it seems durable. (As a hobbiest, I've put in probably 20 hrs of arc time over several years.) BUT when I run 1/8" 7018 it seems to need 150A. I would probably short sell Miller, if it was a pure play. I always run it off 240VAC.

I WILL NEVER BUY AN EVERLAST MACHINE!!! They bought one at work and it lasted about 6 months till it didn't want to start an arc correctly, and about 8 till it would only start about one of 12 tries....and when it did it would cut off in about 3 seconds. I called tech support and they basically treated me like I knew nothing about welding. Of course they didn't know I have over 30yrs experience, 29 as a jouirneyman pipe welder. The guy insisted I turn postflow down to .2 seconds, and my argon from 30cfh to 20cfh. I couldn't get off the phone with this moron quick enough. Then the other day, I ran into a Neverlast rep on Facebook. He didn't spend any time trying to resolve the problem, but instead called me a liar, insulted my experience level, told lies about me, then removed all his posts and blocked me. Very rude, condescending, and unprofessional. His name was Mark Lugo. In short, they have refused to help remedy the problem with a machine that is still under warranty.

good video , so many arguing for transformer welders , saying inverters don't deliver like trans stick welders. I qualified 6G on 6in pipe with a maxstar 150 Some yrs back. This 200 st is tempting . The little blue machine doesn't like 6010 .

I have it and I tried it with a multimeter, in stick mode it delivers 30 amps over what the screen says, up to 45 with a short arc, but this only with 7018, with 6011 and 6013 are 15 to 20 more and up to 35 with a short arc, yes, I tried it several times and the result was always like this, in TIG mode the screen corresponds to the multimeter.

I had turned my 200 ST down to 87 to run Radnor 1/8” 7018 but Thursday, I took it to the tech school where I’m n my second semester and my instructor, a 32-year union man, started welding with it and had me keep turning it down to 72 amps. He then got our Millennium rods and found that they worked best at 74. He brought a couple of 5/32” 7018s and had the machine turning out beautiful beads at 105 amps.
He told me I had a fine welder.

Merry Christmas Bob, question. I like this machine, i am looking at the 140 and the 200st machines. The 200 requires you to purchase a tig torch at $112-$159 in addition to the machine. The 140st comes with the torch and carrying case. The 200st has more amps and will weld the 6010 sticks. Do I need the bigger machine? I'm a hobbyist. Keep up the great video's.
