Samsung S90C QN90C & LG C3 OLED Review | How Are They The Same Price?

Yeah I have WAY too bright of a room for an OLED. I want an 85" so I'm planning on the QN90C which I can get directly from Samsung for $2339.

So question... what do recommend, 85 inch QN90C or 77 inch S90C? Using for movies mainly, no gaming. Both cost the same.

A triangular subpixel layout concerns me. Text sharpness is important.

Samsung don’t have dolby vision thats the deal breaker for me

Why does the C3 have a tint in the colors? I've noticed that from other reviews as well. Especially when it comes to the grey areas, the color kinda tints to the green side. But also, in some cases, I notice that the C3 has more accurate white balance even though I'm not sure if the footage on the display is shot in the accurate WB, that's what I'm seeing in some situations.

now how about BF deal for 55'' c3 at 899E price point vs cheapest s90c sitting at 1200E...quick resume covers 25% lower price for not 25% better screen, 5 years of LG's warranty vs 2 from samsung and, wait...o yea, dolby vision. so in a nutshell, im much more than willing to turn the blind eye from better samsungs tech for all the benefits i got out of this deal

I am one of those "FEW'. I believe Burn-in is a bigger problem than manufacturers are admitting to. If it is such a small problem why not match the QLED warranty! By omitting the issue of Burn-in they VOID the extended warranty. I did not have my LG oled on static screens, I used the tools available in settings to avoid Burn-in. But 2.5 years later I have useless TV...And I am out the cost of an OLED. The best LG will do is parts only... until they include Burn-in in the warranty Buyer BeWare!!

Samsung really needs to include Dolby Vision for those who want it and their sales would sky rocket in every market.

I got a s90c 77 and although motion handling is worse than c3 supposedly in low bitrate content it doesn’t seem bad to me and it blows away the c3 when you stand next to both of them in person.

Oled sucks! My LG C9 already has burn-in after 3 years!

After much deliberation & research I’m going for the S90C over the QN90B. This video gave me a lot of confidence

Hey im deciding between s90c and qn85c any advice?

As I’m writing, here in my country the C3 comes in at 400€ less than the s90c. Which is a lot of difference (33% of the ttl price). Adding the OS which is so much better on LG, I’d definitely go for the C3 right now. BTW, if I were to base my choice on the side by side comparison in this video I couldn’t tell the difference between s90c and C3 (the QN90 looks a lot brighter and artificial)

Yes, the price is attractive, but the TV is not just a good panel, there is an OS, there is processing, upscaling, and good system updates, and all of these points you will find Samsung has a long history of failure, and they did not stop there, rather they decided not to support Dolby Vision!!!!
That's why you find Sony & LG have such a strong consumer base, they sell you a more polished TV experience for what you pay.

Just ordered this 77" S90C for $1800 off Samsung with an educator discount a few days ago. Super excited to see how much better it looks than my 55" B2.

I would honestly get the S90C over the S95C just because at the 77inch you're more likely to get the 2nd gen panel and not have to deal with possible latency with the one connect box.

You can't go wrong with either at this tier of television and the experience that it offers beyond picture quality.

I don't think its as "Common Sense" as you say. There are some that do know the differences, can wait and get a deal on either and not for retail price, and choose one over the other like the C3 for instance, just because they prefer the interface/OS and maybe it integrates well with all their other devices with ease.

the smart platform is also a high reason to go for a certain brand tbh, not all apps run on every smart platform, especially in europe. I want to try LG's WebOS instead of Tizen, i've heard good things about webos and that they cover many different apps.

Just by looking at this. I think the qn90c looks way better.

The G3 only has better white brightness. When trying to get colorful images brighter the G3 washes out colors while they will still look good at same brightness on Samsung because of quantum dots.

How can anybody willingly use any Samsung TV. The menus, calibration, build, operating system is complete utter garbage. They are unusable in every single aspect.

Motion...I've heard the motion on the Samsung is the reason to avoid. Samsung motion is typically the worst out of the big 3 - Samsung, LG, and Sony.

If you’re using for a monitor it’s a shame the s90 smallest is 55. Too big for me.

S90C while great picture quality just seems under baked in pretty much every other aspect. Poor motion handling and upsampling, software/OS, quality assurance and build quality, sound, fragility, only 1 year warranty, no dolby vision. I only need a 55in for my bedroom this year and going with the G3 I think. I can understand the cost difference though on the larger TV's.. it's a tough decision.

My issue with Samsung has always been their software. It feels clunky and has tons of gremlins. The LG OLEDs always have a great OS that gets constant updates and refinements, even YEARS after it has been supplanted (my LG CX still gets software updates). I don't doubt that QD-OLED is the superior tech, but hardware is nothing without good software to run it.

I went to the store yesterday to see the QN90C, I'm blown away by the colors, It is vibrant and the blacks are really black. Mini LED is very close to OLED.

Nah, I'm not convinced at all by the S90C tbh. Low build quality (you could see gaps near the corners and low quality plastic material used), oversaturated colors (same with Samsung mobile phones btw) sluggish UI, plus general low reliability make me choose the C3 easily.

Just throwing this in there, where i live the C3 65 and 77- inch tv's are around 1000$ cheaper than the S90C versions. That´s not even black friday prices/deals. The C3 55 inch however is 500$ cheaper than the 55 inch S90C. Not sure if the S90C is 500-1000$ better than the C3.

I got my 65” s90c last week for 1,599 plus 5 year warranty added so total was around 2,000 and I’m extremely happy with it. I actually have to lower certain settings a little at night because its so bright. I was told that Black Friday most likely wouldn’t be that much better a deal on the 65” by Best Buy employees, but who knows really.

I think it’s the best bang for your buck TV around right now.

Agreed. S90C is better. C2 and C3 have many issues. Dead pixels in a month, Dolby Vision is applied poorly with flickering, darkening, and just looking worse than standard HDR... thanks for being real in your recommendation
