Awesome trick. Thanks so much.
Ответитьamazing, works perfect. i needed a list sorted by sales rank, e.g. best seller on top.
Ответитьwooooowwww!!! thanks sir!
ОтветитьGreat trick! Too bad the custom does not travel with the workbook and or can be made specific to the slicer vs. application level. Thanks :))
ОтветитьVery nice man!! Thanks
ОтветитьGreat tip Sir! thanks.
ОтветитьThis is very helpful! Thank You!
ОтветитьExactly what im looking for. Many thanks
ОтветитьBut what happens if you upload the file to a Sharepoint and the Excel used is the Online Excel version and not the one on your machine with the custom list
ОтветитьI can't even get my slicer to arrange it January,. February, March, etc... It does it alphabetically. (keep in mind my slicer is for a table and not a pivot table)
ОтветитьWhy won't this work for me? I'm using power query and power pivot. Is it possibly not working because my pivot tables are built from power pivot?
ОтветитьHi, my default month list is Jan, Feb .. Dec ... But my Slicer for some reason is not able to sort it. It uses the alphabetical sorting by default. My Pivot Table is sorted by Month as I have forced it through the Pivot Table sort settings. Also FYI .. I am using the Data Model for the Pivot Table as I had to create a Measure to calculate the Grade (A+, A, B ...) based on Marks obtained. Any help is appreciated.
ОтветитьAnother great tip Bill,
Go into the Slicer settings (R-click on slicer) and ensure that 'Use Custom Lists when sorting' is checked if it doesn't work. This is the default but, you never know...
Can you type the values in the Custom List dialog instead of referencing it from your spreadsheet (K3:K14)?
ОтветитьGreat trick!
Ответитьcool tip! Thanks Bill !
ОтветитьMr. Bill tips are precise and more useful. Thank you again.
ОтветитьThat is a great trick!!!
ОтветитьHello Bill, great tip to know, especially since my work is a fiscal year. Near the end you mentioned hiding the two filters "Greater Than", and "Less Than" with no data, and I agree they appear to be of no value. You may already know this, but In 2016 (I believe, I didn't check 2013) they added a new Slicer setting to hide them - "Hide items with no data"
ОтветитьDoes this also work when you share this workbook with somebody who doesn't has this custom list maintained?
ОтветитьThanks Bill.
