RTX 3060 Ti - ARK Survival Ascended

I’m debating on getting this on pc or ps5. I have a 3060ti with 16gb RAM. From what I’ve been reading, ps5 will give better performance???

wait, how can you turn on DLSS with a 30xx card, i thought this option is only for 40xx cards available?

I recently just bought a brand new rtx 3060ti paired with ryzen 7 7800x and my game can hardly get 40fps on low. The game also looks horrendous on all the settings with trees constanlty flickering and everything blurry. I’ve tried so many fixes and nothing works. Do you have any ideas on what’s going on.

Guys be sure to turn off foliage and water interactions, turning this off give me 20 MORE FPS, running a 3060 12gb, this with volumetric cloud should help you reach medium to epic settings without going under 30fps

try it with a way lower cpu and see how bad ark asc actualy is, 0 optimized only rely on dlss....

those new games arent optimized bcz of the vegitation matirials in optimized games there are lods that stop the moving materials if we are far away in unreal engline and its kinda hard to implement and if the devs do it the game size will be twice bigger since they have to duplicate everything hoefully a new unreal engine update simplify this with a new tec and well since the older titles didnt even had marial movement with wind ofc they got better fps

I don't think they will improve the terrain so get used to floating stuff. Even The Island on ARK Survival Evolved, still has floating objects on the map. Issue is the rushed making The Island on UE5 and I doubt they will fix visual issues like floating rocks, and grass etc since they never did on the original.

A 70 class card being a 1080p60 low card within 2-3 years is nuts

And yes this is an early access title from a studio with a rep for publishing poorly optimized games, and the 3060 ti/3070 are heavily vram limited, so that weighs in. It's still a poor showing

If you like the Volumetric Clouds: Try Effects=low in combination with DLSS Quality to compensate clouds flickering too much. They still will sometimes, but a very slight camera movement will reset them and look okay again. It seems to give arround +50% fps compared to effects=high...may be a reasonable tradeoff for you. Can even give up to 80% more FPS when there are clouds and the sea in the frame. So it seems this changes waterquality aswell.

Problem with DLSS performance and lower usually is: the clouds just flicker all the time even on effects=high....

The only way to eliminate the flicker on trees etc is to drop Global illumination to Low-Medium, also you need to set Disable HLOD to ON as this will gain you a ton of fps.
I just discovered also a command line that reduces the clouds, so you still have them but without the 15-20 fps loss, just type r.VolumetricCloud.StepSizeOnZeroConservativeDensity 30 ( Default is 1) Other than that just set DLSS to DLAA and your clouds will not flicker at all

Atp old ark is better cus both has bugs but i prefer the look of older ark rn dont get me wrong the games beautiful but things like random floating rocks and flickering and the stuttering is crazy ik it will get better as the game continues like how old ark did but i rather wait until the game actually fixes than buying it rn.
