Actually you are not the only one. The original Taiji pictogram was not like that.
Yin and Yang was on the left and right not on the upside and downside. And there was 8 nature symbols not 4, and they are all misplaced in Korean flag now. We used it later Joseon and Korean Empire period but the design was changed and simplified.
