I wish that the snowrunner sequel will carry over good things from this amazing game

It‘s honestly sad that Spintires was shut down, i was hoping that we‘d get a switch port of the game like with SR and MR

I had thought Snowrunner would be an upgrade over Spintires and Mudrunner but they went backwards smh.

Spintires felt good
Mudrunner felt like a much needed refresh of Spintires
Snowrunner feels like a mudrunner knockoff

I discovered the 'trilogy' in reverse order: I started with SnowRunner, then I tried MudRunner, then out of curiosity I managed to find Spintires. I honestly love all three games for different reasons. I agree that certain aspects of truck movement, driving, physics feel better in Spintires and MudRunner, but I wouldn't say SnowRunner is worse than these two older iterations. SnowRunner may be lacking on the 'true offroad vehicle' simulation, but it feels more complete and structured overall. MudRunner is logs, logs, and more logs. And the fact that each map is self-contained is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it's like you start anew in every map, and you have to deal with every map's objective with the trucks and scouts that you're given, and you have very limited preferences/choices. A curse because the game feels less cohesive. It's like playing a version of SnowRunner which only features Trials and nothing else. There's no real progression or world-building. As for Spintires, I like it a lot for the same things you emphasised in your review, but at times it feels as if I were playing SnowRunner in slow-motion. There are parts in the maps where the terrain seems a bit too extreme and makes even the stronger trucks proceed at a glacial pace. That doesn't feel entirely realistic to me. But I'll reiterate — I love all three games equally. I basically play one when I'm tired of the other two, and playing them on rotation ensures I don't really burn-out on any of them. :-) Cheers! //Rick

I have spintires, played many hours of it, had at one point over 100 modded vehicles. And a few modded maps and custom maps.
Had a blast in spintires.
Not so much a fan of snoweunner though been trying to like it since release but dosnt have the spintires feel anymore.

used to watch whybeare play this. Always wished I could play, but i just recently reached my teens, and am a free to play. been using some game apps to get gift cards, but like, where do i find the game.

A play only spintires a think it's better but with little mission and details and a think camera and physical movement are better than the other games mud... and snow....

I acquired spintires in I think mid-late 2014 or 2015. At the time I was just a kid so I wasn't able to play much and only built up 150ish hours but I remember them as some of the best. A few days ago I decided play it again for the first time since probably around 2020 and it's been a blast! I've been driving around the hill with a few of the 10GB worth or vehicles I acquired over the years and I've also been doing a playthrough of Plains with default trucks. After all these years spintires still amazes me and I think if we can stop it from being lost to time it will be a timeless game.

I prefer mudrunner because it has manual h pattern transmission with clutch.

Unfortunately snowrunner doesn't have, that's why i don't play it.

I got it on my steam account a long time ago, haven’t touched it since like 2015 but played it lots back before that.

So, I been playing spintries from 2014 and I played all 3 games in series. So Spintires basically had 3 phases
first phase 2014-2016: In this phase game contantly get updates, Physics was kind of similar to or I would say even easier than Mudrunner in some aspects at that time.
Second Phase2017-2018: This is dark phase of game because in 2017 Mudrunner was released and Spintires was basically dead for year and half.
Third Phase 2019-2020: With the end of Mudrunner, We have 3rd and final phase where spintires get new updates & DLCs, they completly revamp the graphics and physics is evolved to what it is today, It get more realistic, tire pressure system is added, they changed everything in terms of how truck handle and how physics react to it basically it makes it entirely different game.

Too bad this game is dead now, I recently replayed it and I can see how inferior the Snowrunner is compered to this game, sure the graphics are good and all but the soul is not there and you've to admit that "Spintires" is still the best sounding name for such game.

Theres is something about the feeling that you get playing Spintires and Mudrunner. Something about these games make them feel better than Snowrunner. Snowrunner feels "empty" ? I don't know how to explain but, I think Snowrunner doesn't feel as realistic and "depressing" when compared to the two previous games. I think that if we had the mechanics of Snowrunner mixed with Spintires and Mudrunner, we would have the perfect game of its genre. I love Snowrunner, but I keep going back to these two games every once in a while. I completely agree with everything you said, Spintires just feels better. I've been thinking about this for a long time, and its good to finally see other people that actually feels the same.

In my opinion it was a better game

I gave a try this game some time ago. I bought it on steam. In general, the idea and the game play is good in my opinion. However... The terrain is waaay too muddy. It's like pudding... Even big ass truck can get stuck extremely easily. And winch is used like all the time. It gets worse when there is noting to winch to. I understand the idea of this game, but it killed the whole game to me. Instead of fun it became a burden. You are happy to get out of mud after 5 or more minutes just to get stuck 30 seconds later again. Or I don't know how to play this game

I remember playing spintires when I was a kid, but I had a very bad computer and I couldn't play properly because soon the game crashed, nowadays I already have a good pc, but spintires was removed from steam, is there a link from download of the dlcs ?

Actually just got two keys for $7 for me and my cousin. I actually never played spin tires or only had 2 hours like 7 years ago. But it’s so much better than snowrunner imo

This game just has that pure and raw feel to its core as compared to Snowrunner.

You know why this game is better? Snowrunner and Mudrunner are trying to be this game. One of the developers left Spintires and created their own version - Mudrunner., then Snowrunner (identical games, really, why even release a second version?)

Spintires had a whole team dedicated to this. Had a lot less paid DLC's (basically microtransactions for content). The game's base was a lot stronger. Overall, it was a much better game and Snowrunner or Mudrunner will never achieve what Spintires did.

Then Spintires studio got sued.. BY THE SAME DEVELOPER WHO WORKED ON IT AND DECIDED TO RELEASE A LESSER COPY OF THAT GAME. Life is funny, isn't it? Such a fun game not available anymore only because some bastard decided to mess with it.

I reccomend buying a key to this game. If you know you enjoy such games, this is the best one.

If you already have spin tires its worth playing but as of 4-15-2023 spin tires has been removed from steam why i dont know. if anyone knows why please educate me.

Yeah im still playing this game

I'm just so sad I fell in love with this game to late. Got none of the DLCs.
I got Mudrunner and I couldn't make it through only one hour of it. It just feels gamey and wrong.
So now I'm stuck with playing the 6 maps again and again.
Curse the publisher...

I love the game MudRunner, I've played it for 1400 hours and I still can't get enough! Unfortunately, I don't have SnowRunner yet, but I'll definitely get it! I will buy Spintires too.

A question:

Is this Chernobyl map with the radioactive sites also available for MudRunner to download?

Just love look and feel of the game so much. Spent like a few hundred hours in it for sure. You're absolutely right, it's the best game of all three.

I've been playing this game since 2015. Personally, I think Spintires has the best simulation of the three games. Snowrunner has the most "different" things to occupy your time with. Mudrunner has a nearly limitless supply of user-created maps on the workshop. But neither game really feels all that challenging, once you know the basics your basically set for the game. But no matter how many times I replay those same few maps in Spintires, every time is different. Every time is enjoyable, because the game itself is more challenging, just as you mentioned. I'm fotunate enough to have bought the DLCs while the game was still on Steam, if you can find a reputeable place to get them, I'd recommend it. (the Canyons map and Vehicle Pack 01 DLCs are free, I think the steam discussions/guides pages have them.)

I've been waiting for a video like this for forever! You mention everything that I love about spintires over snowrunner. Sadly I got a new accouyt and when I wanted to play spintires again, it wasnt available 😭 I MISS THE HILL IN MULTIPLAYER SO MUCH 😭 THE MODS WERE AMAZING 😭 Also I loved the graphics, sound and physics so much compared to snowrunner. I think the lighting was better too. They should just bring that list of stuff I just made into snowrunner. It would be so much better.

I love Spintires, I spent many hours playing and still go back time to time. I have snowrunner but haven't even put in 10 hours yet, like you said it's an unforgiving terrain on a tiny map
