I was a 'Working Stiff' for well over 50 years. I learned early on, even before I graduated college, what a "Consultant" really was. My first exposure was one summer during semester break,  when I was working as a Bank Teller. My Supervisor said that a Consulting Firm was sending a so-called Efficiency Expert to observe us working. At the time, Tellers made a salary of $100.00 a week. The job required working an extra three hours on Friday evening, so they gave us a $2.50 dinner allowance. After the Consulting Company gave Bank Management the results, we lost our meal money. Moving ahead, when I was working my first full-time job after graduation from College, I encountered my first Consultant, up close and personal. A few times after that, over the years as a employee, I observed so-called "Consultants" walking around. They were kinda' like Office Industrial Engineers, without clipboards & stopwatches. To sum it up in the most simplistic way possible, based on my observations, Consultants were people who wanted to obtain money without actually WORKING.

No offense to you but consulting is amongst the most mind-numbingly stupid jobs in the world. You tell companies literally what anyone else could have told them but couch it in such a complicated and woven up way to make it sound like you worked when in actuality, you barely did anything. If you're interested in bluster and fakeness with zero substance for the rest of your life, then consulting is a great profession for you.

I feel like you have to be built for this!
