3090 is a flawed POS. I owned one, failed and went for repair due to uncooled VRAM on the back. Now on a 7900XTX and couldn't be happier.

£1400 3090 vs £900 7900XTX - The AMD card floors the quality of product Nvidia provided, and for £500 less. Enough to buy another GPU or rest of the machine...

I would have preferred a 7900xtx but i just got lucky with a 3090 prebuilt with a 11900kf for less than $1700 so I guess it's going to be all about tracing lol

Seeing the cpu “utilization” percentage alone is not very useful. I can tell by your setup and results, that you are still CPU bound, mostly with the XTX, but it’s making the difference between the two cards seem smaller than it would be if you were running a 12 or 16 core CPU. All I’m saying is, I could have predicted these exact results without even needing to run the tests.

Is it good idea to go for xtx from 3070ti. Im on intel platform 13700k and dont know nothing about pairing intel cpu and amd gpu. I cant even find some benchmarks, all of them has ryzen cpus...

7900xtx is cheaper and better. Nvidia is so ass.

bought a 4090 paired with a 13900k and turning RT on is not worth it at all. The difference turning it on is subtle and you deep dive in performance. RT's not worth it imo

one things for sure... the 7900 xtx is better than the rtx 4070 ti... with the 7900 xtx $1000 msrp being $200 away from the rtx 4080s $1200 and $200 away from the rtx 4070 tis $800 msrp... the 7900 xtx is just as much of a competitor for the 4080 as it is for the 4070 ti. what amd effectively did was take nvidias last gens $1600 and beefed it up in some regards and made it a $1000 gpu... which is more than nvidia can say with its 12gb 4070 ti gimped low bandwidth gpu. the 7900 xtx is still effectively a 4k gpu. so amds $1000 4k gpu vs nvidias 4070 ti 1440p $800 gpu and nvidias 4080 $1200 4k gpu they actually set themselves in a good place in my opinion... to take some of the 4k gpu market share. i just wish it had a lower tdp, and a few extra features like fssr 3.0, and resizable bar (i read a bunch of amd gpu owners complaining about the lack of resizable bar feature and i dont know if this is a true issue but im inclined to believe them). at least as far as the 7900 xtx is concerned. i cant say the same thing for their 7900 xt and 7600 xt though... i know this is going to be a hot take but thats fine. from what i understand the 4070 ti could be used as a 4k gpu (even with the 12gb of vram) being that it performs about the same as the 3080 but as 4k games become more demanding and bandwidth heavy that gimped bandwidth will become an issue and age like milk (from my understand of reading people fears and complaints about the rtx 4070 ti). so its really only one choice for 4k gaming when it comes to the new nvidia gpus. with a $200 price drop in msrp the 7900 xtx becomes a great option for budget 4k gaming as far as current gen is concerned. which it is crazy to call a $1000 gpu a budget 4k gpu but that is the sad state of the market now days. amd does not have the best and strongest 4k gpu but it has the most affordable 4k gpu. which is all we could have asked for from amd this gen on the high end... unfortunately it sounds like they are dropping the ball on the low end though. fingers crossed for the 7800 xtx.

I'm planning to upgrade my 3080 to 7900 XT all because the stutter on Fortnite and DX12 games in general because of shader compiling issue, i've seen all your bench comparing AMD and Nvidia, all AMD Gpu seems to have "less stuttering 1%Low" and also a smoother frametime, can you confirm that will be my case too ?

7900 xtx is a failure, like come on AMD, this was your chance to finally catch up in ray tracing and you fking failed.

Bro, I have the 7900 xtx with a 5600x cpu and in fortnite I have 140 fps at 1440p with everything EPIC. Thus, not sure to trust your benchmark.

I'm going to upgrade to 32gb ram, but I can't find a DEFINITIVE answer on what the best GPU my motherboard will accept!?!

im seeing some used 3090 at half the price of 7900XTX in my country.

I think this 7000 series is kinda a dissapointment. In their showcase they praised it so highly, but it doesnt really perform that good, better yes, but not as good as we all expected. I just bought 4080 and I am absolutely satisfied !

Looks like URE5 with Lumin RT levels the field between NVIDA and AMD (somewhat) so it is worth seeing where games go in the future (more like CyberPunk or more like Fortnight). I would have shown RT on in Colisto and Forza Horizon to show more comparisons with RT on in real world usage. Doesn't matter if it's CPU limited it's real world usage example.

I want to point out that AMD also included display port 2.1 & usb type-c for people planning to keep their gpu for longer while nvidia despite flaunting their above 50% profit margin to board members kept it to themselves this generation in order to give the current customers of the 4000s a reason to upgrade to the 5000s. And keep in mind Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Nvidia & AMD are all board director members of VESA that designed the display port.

I don't enable Ray Tracing in any of my games. Honestly waiting for whichever GPU, RTX 4080 or RX 7900XTX (non reference/MBA), to drop to around 900-950 euros and then I'll upgrade.

I have a 2089 super from 2019. I just ordered a 7900xtx for $1100. The 3090 is way over that price and most of the benchmarks I have seen make the 7900 more a comparison to the 4090. But for me, upgrading from a 2080, it makes way more sense to get a 7900.

Daniel, you can use HWinfo with rivatuner to display just about any sensor you like instead of using afterburner which would give you more versitility on what you want to display on your benchmarks.

If NVIDIA released DLSS-Generated Frames for 20-30 series cards, AMD be in a little trouble.
I'd get a 7900XTX if it was 700USD but not 999USD which translates to around 1800AUD here. I'm better off waiting on a deal for a 4090!

I consider the 7900XTX to be this gens 6800XT, don't care what AMD says. 7900XT to be 6800.. Everything has been shovelled upwards to make it seem better then it is. Even the 40 series has terrible performance tier for price!
