Hey everybody,
The "-u" when entering the command "git push -u origin master" sets origin as the remote (upstream) target so any pushes after that can be called with just "git push" instead of typing it all out.
rusty tech manager qho is getting his hands dirty after 20 years of not touching code. Great intro on helping to get my hand dirty again after all these years.

ОтветитьSimple and excellent
ОтветитьPull request from Elie should have added "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.
ОтветитьI'm running into an error my github and terminal won't connect. This is the error " permission denied (publickey" resulting in me not being able to successfully setup the pull request. Anybody else run into this issue?
ОтветитьThat is without question a fine addition to the playlist
ОтветитьAwesome tutorial! I appreciate the demo just using text files, because a lot of github tutorial material conflates git with also learning about programming topics. This lets the github tutorial be the true focus and helped me follow it better.
ОтветитьCame second is a quiz night last night. Question was what type of animal has Silkies and two other chickens.
ОтветитьCody got told off after this
ОтветитьSuch a helpful video. Felt overwhelmed trying to learn Git and GitHub on my own but I feel way more confident using them now. Thanks for all your work, loving the Udemy web developer course as well!
ОтветитьSimple and clear like a shiny day.

Ответитьwhen i run the "git push -u origin master " line i get an error saying i can't log in with my username and password, but that i need tokens?

ОтветитьThanks a lot, it was really helpful
Ответитьeverytime i try to push updates to my github repo i always get the same error:
Updates were rejected because the remote contains work that you do
not have locally. This is usually caused by another repository pushing....etc
all videos i have seen about pushing updates don't get this error, why is it happening to me?
i know that i am not supposed to run git pull before pushing....can anybody assist?
you make great videos, packed with information and straight to the point
ОтветитьAwesome video Colt. Watched this after I finished the one on GIT. In the middle of your Web Dev Bootcamp, and wanted to start my own project while showing that I have an understanding of GIT / GitHub. I’m still going to take you GIT / GitHub course though. Thank you!
