The prospect of consuming 100g of any gas per second is crazy. At atmospheric pressure and room temp that is like a home of oxygen, per second.
ОтветитьBest SPOM tutorial. Building different SPOMs starting with the simplest one helps a lot.
ОтветитьYAWN!
ОтветитьSelf-Powered Oxygen Machine not sure this is correct.. anyone can Power an Oxygen machine. its keeping it running thats hard with the amount of water it uses.
ОтветитьIt helps to have it explained step by step. I was straight up confused as to why the oxygen production was not half the hydrogen. Guess chemistry doesn't match our world.
Ответитьi have had problems making spoms forever and now my oxygen production will finally be stable!
ОтветитьLove the video. Helped me just in time. Though I used that smaller version. The 12 tile wide design. Hydrogen keeps getting into my base. Is my base just too big?
ОтветитьThank you so much Echo!
ОтветитьWow I can't believe I couldn't figure this out myself ;-)
ОтветитьOr you can just make one as a Hydra with 10 submerged electorolizers that works as an infinite storage for Hydrogen and Oxygen and never have to deal with any of those traditional Rodrigez variation design flaws and it is even easier to build than this and requires zero preperations,it auto-seperates the gases.
Ответить8.88 dupes sure but does masks and suits effect that? my games i choak out cause suits
Ответитьwhy the doors instead of normal walls?
Ответить=EXPECTED TO SEE SOME HYDRA IN ACTION,THOUGH
.....................BUT NO HYDRAS OR INFINITE STORAGE OF COOLED OXYGEN TO DISTRIBUTE......
why do you have a battery in here?
also you can use a water trap setup around your electrolyzes to separate out hydrogen and oxygen, its a bit finicky to set up but once its working it just works, this means you don't need as many gas filters, or pumps, as air can escape directly into the base, the setup also prevents electroliers from being over pressured so keep that in mind
don't let duplicates breath in neat the water trap solution since carbon can clog up the system and beak it
KLEI should hire you, just saying ❤
ОтветитьIf you are really efficient with your power usage you can go from 100% coal powered to 100% hydrogen powered early game… not only self powered.. but powering your whole base for a while.
ОтветитьWhere you get water for this?
ОтветитьSomething I did with my SPOM is I built it close enough to a cold zone and ran my output pipes through that. I had to tinker with it to get it just right, because I was initially getting oxygen at my base at a chilly three degrees Fahrenheit, but once I found the sweet spot I was getting perfectly temped O2 at my base.
ОтветитьI'm trying to understand if there's a particular reason that the full volume of gases from the electrolizers can be pulled out in the half-Rodriguez, but no one adds an 7th o2 pump at the bottom to do so in the full-Rodriguez.
For that matter, I'm also wondering why with the excess power available, no one just includes filters on their outputs just in case.
What do you do for downtime or holidays
ОтветитьMy half rodriguez is not working properly the way you have it keeps pumping hydrogen and oxygen to my hydrogen generators any suggestions?
Ответить37 minutes to talk about SPOMs? How is that even possible? Let's find out! Edit: So a question. Why even have the pumps? Why not remove the pumps, open the floor, and let the oxygen roam free? You can even put a cooling loop right below the pumps to cool down the oxygen as it flows down. Leave one pump for the hydrogen and you even have an excess of power
Ответитьwhere hydra?
Ответитьi may be late to ask this, the excess hydrogen is able to sustain other 2 generators???
ОтветитьAh yes the before times of ONI, when certain liquids had funny properties, buildings did odd things when pushing the thermal limits. Liquid hydrogen required some really really odd mechanics to get, and it was possible to get solid hydrogen and brick a carefully constructed system, wheezeworts did some very peculiar things that could be abused.
ОтветитьMy best solution to overheating is usually putting it in a cold biome, even if you use a thermal regulator for the oxygen it will not overheat, especially if the cold is in negative degrees.
ОтветитьI really hate the fact that the various generators don't actually consume oxygen - which is the only reason the SPOM is even a thing.
Ответитьi dont get how the system is cooled, like having radiant hydrogen pipes only equilibrates the heat within the system. how does the entire system doesnt overheat ? My only guess is that it's the water that does the job of a coolant
ОтветитьSince I am 600 hours into ONI now, I figured it was time to watch a SPOM tutorial finally. Putting my new skills to the test tonight! Thanks for another fun and informative video! :)
ОтветитьIt's actually better if you use radiant liquid pipes. The oxy will only be hotter if you get the water above 70C, so by feeding it water that is cooling the oxy coming out, you actually delete a ton of heat. I've run them like that without any extra cooling and the oxy comes out at 25-30C. A little warm, but no big deal
Ответитьis gold on transformers needed? seems only ore has the +50c bonus. refined does not
ОтветитьThis man goes deep! Love the video, exactly the info I needed!
ОтветитьPRO tip just google hydra and thank me later :D
ОтветитьThis is great! Between this and your aquatuner tutorial, I will finally be able to progress beyond 200 cycles. Thank you very much!
ОтветитьI'm personally a fan of power free filters, made from bridges, a valve, and a loop of 1g gas.
ОтветитьHow much excess Hydrogen are generating per electrolyzer? I’m sure it would vary a bit based on the number of pumps and energy draw, of course, but I’m just curious about a ballpark figure. Like, if you built one around a entropy destroyer machine, would it be enough to keep it going, for example?
ОтветитьMy first thought upon seeing the Full Rodriguez was to "simply" add another gas pump to get the full 3500 g/s of oxygen out. Tried it out in sandbox mode and it wasn't nearly that easy. Is there a reason why you can't get the full throughput?
ОтветитьYOU ARE FREACKING GENIUS!
ОтветитьWhy are SPOMs are thing? Never used one. Just let the O2 and H2 flow, build electrolyzers where you need O2. The H2 will just naturally flow upwards and you can collect it. PS: it's only an issue very early in the game where the H2 will suffocate your base because you either don't have the gas tech yet or you can't use up the H2 fast enough.
ОтветитьOk so now...where do you get this massive amount of water required ??
ОтветитьI love this tutorial, I learnt a lot! Thank you
ОтветитьAny reason for not using a gas element sensor and shutoff value instead? Would be a lot more energy efficient than the gas filter
ОтветитьNot gonna lie.
When I seen it at first I was like 😮
But then after I watched, I was like 😎
you are the greatest teacher! thank you for these!
ОтветитьSPOM: Thermium gas pump in a hot polluted oxygen vent going through a steam chamber under a steam turbine, into an auto-swept setup of ceramic deodorizers, powered by the heat of the vent.
Don't @ me.
You can replace all of those pups with a door pump that uses no electricity
Ответитьit would be an ultimate guide if you went over hydras
