14 Reasons Everyone Quits DayZ

I mean, people talk about how "brutally realistic" it is and find enjoyment in it, but I find it brutally unrealistic is some ways and that's where the game loses some of its appeal for me. As one example of many, how is it when I walk into an apartment complex, I find nothing? Like, literally not a single thing. Not a knife. Not a single shred of clothing. Absolutely nothing. Purely anecdotal, but that has happened in many of my playthroughs - that doesn't strike me as "brutally realistic". Sure, I could play the game and find the lay of it and adapt, but my immersion just breaks when I run into these issues with DayZ. I think it's okay for food/water to be scarce in a survival game, but I think a survival game should be logically laid out in the sense that there should be "certain" things you can find (ie clothing, mundane weapons, etc) in certain "places" and this game is extremely hit or miss in that regard.

MY Reason is the bush campers, and death from someone you can't see, everything else I can deal with but not that :(

I played 1 game met 2 people the first guy instantly started punching me until I died the second guy actually was trying to teach me the game but I felt so stupid bc I’m not a gamer and couldn’t figure out anything he was telling me so I left and I will not go back a game should not be that hard I wish I never bought it and I’m pissed off I did this game is for a certain type of player and it’s not for me waist of money

This video is only dealing with new players. When you're experienced with the game everything is trivial outside of pvp with other players. There's no actual difficult pve threats for us to deal with or handle zombies are a mild nuisance at most and they are janky to the point of immersion breaking. Chernarus needs an overhaul especially the cities which just sucks nothing fun or interesting in them. Also that Vehicles still don't work is annoying, why don't we have light/heavy machine guns? Cool military gear like Altyn the ability to modify guns more? More advanced medical system, broken arms etc.

Harder PVE threats= Players will be forced to team up to deal with it. Which means player interaction outside of everyone doing KoS. I love the idea of the permanent contaminated areas but they are fucking annoying to get to. NBC suit not being a whole piece you could equip in a new slot over your already existing equipment like it would be IRL is fucking dumb, adds an annoying artifical grind and makes it extremely annoying and difficult to get even one other player with you into an area like that.

Half the fun of the game is getting lost in Cherno. I play PVE servers. I tried PVP before but I kept getting killed on sight. Also, it's fun just starting out, trying to loot to find gear and food, trying to survive off of the land, etc... I am sure I am missing some good interactions on a PVP server, but I like to relax and play on PVE servers.

DayZ is a unique game and is easily the best game I have ever played and I am 60 years old. I love this game. I am disabled/retired so I play for many hours all day long. It's great.

Dayz needs human enemy ai, better base mechanics, kinda like dead side. Missions and traders. Easier way to find friends and an in game map. Also if you die and set up a spawn at base, you should be able to spawn back to base.However Dayz is a good survival game, but bit boring. Which adds this will make this game better.

I came close today as a new player (under 50 hours) when I found out base (tallest apartment in Turnow) had been raided. Everything was boarded up (no base damage server) but the game allowed a ground to stack watchtowers on each other to reach the vulnerable rooftop. Like dude..

Im buying this for ps5 next month to play with my cousin, would and veterans be down to show us the basics of the game? It would be very much appreciated

The people....The thing is that PVE is fun but its so annoying to die randomly. Even in No KOS Servers people don't act like they do in an apocalypse and theres not much immersion and roleplay.

Bro everybody rage quitting losing gear and I’m over here handing gear out. If I come across a kid or something I’ll give them everything I have. It makes me smile when some little kid is excited because they’ve never even found a gun before. I’ll teach them how to use it. Give them tips on how to find food. Like fishing and hunting. Show them how to cook it. But most of the time I just get attacked by some flailing freshie unfortunately.😂

DayZ for me is that game that I play for a month straight then it collects digital dust in my steam library, then one friend plays it, I jump on it and then we have the group back. The cycle repeats

I had a 12 hour character that was absolutely geared. I had plenty of ammo for my AK, I had a couple silenced pistols, I had plenty of medical supplies and food. I had full Patrol gear and a plate carrier. I was ready to take on the world.

Then I stepped on a random land mine that someone placed in a building. Damaged my leg so bad that taking 3-4 steps made me pass out from the pain. I didn't have supplies to make a splint, and dragging myself far enough to find a roll of duct tape and some sticks would have taken possibly hours. So, I did what I had to do. I pulled the pin on a grenade, placed it on the ground, and laid on top of it. Started back on the coast. No progression, and nothing gained from the experience.

I fucking love this game.

Just want the pvp to work smooth or have a way to play pve only

I think trader makes the game shit, would like to see more modded servers without it as it makes fights over anything rare and vanilla DayZ is quite boring

What keep people off is that they thought this game is a survival game, but what they get is glorified battle royale.

Because they are shit at the game?? I mean, it has 3pp for weak players, it has community servers with no stamina, boosted loot (also weak as fck) ... Nothing about how insanely clunky 80% of this game is? It really doesn’t have to be this way, many other hardcore survival shooters have created far better systems

Dayz isn't a game for 1H, its a game for 3ish or more hours ....but if you play on trader servers that's not dayz, that's just arma lite

Played from day one, 6k hours yeah I've had fun and my money's worth....2 copies.
Might go slice a few friendlies up tonight lol.

I spent weeks building a base that was uncrackable......meet a friend who eventually joined my base and we finished building it together.....we met our neighbours and we all got on.
We were warned there was a large group of players on the server that were using the duplication glitch to create gear out of thin air.
Next thing, there is group of players outside our base, they blow it to pieces using duplicated plastic explosives......take everything.
I spawned in afyer my friend said we'd been attacked.......there was nothing left but a few scattered fence poles.
I was so pissed off that weeks of work was wrecked by people exploiting gliches, that I left the game for months.
I've only recently started playing again but this time dont intend to waste my life on pointless building.

Dayz is amazing as a multi-player game, the jank and bugs is my issue. Rendering pop in. Hacking. Ect ect. But as a game, you have to be a dull knife to get mad at this game. It's honest and will not hold your hand. Deal with it and make some friends in game to learn.

I spend a lot of my time playing DayZ wondering why I'm even bothering. But then something amazing will suddenly happen. I'll come across a cool person finally that doesn't have an itchy trigger finger, and you go on an adventure together. Or I'll overcome ridiculous odds and take down a clan by myself or with that one cool person , and the satisfaction is unparalleled in gaming. DayZ will always give you back as much as you're willing to put in. Put little into it and you will get absolutely nothing out of it.

Surprised you didn’t mention this, but what officially turned me off from the game were the glitches. One issue I ran into frequently was falling through the earth and dying if I bumped into a table in a house or somehow got caught in a door. That has killed me numerous times. The other issue was having gear despawn if I set it on the ground.

Overall, it came to the point where it a player, a zombie, or the environment killed me, I was happy with that run. But after dying to falling through the earth one too many times, I called it quits. Bohemia needs to fix this game. It’s pathetic. It’s been out for over ten years and they’re having these issues

I do have to say, even though I don't even have a week in playing this fantastic game, I properly enjoy it. I was quite on the fence for quite some time whether or not to get this game (I'm running it on my ps4) and I saw a good number of videos saying that the game is, to put it mildly, quite dodgy and unstable when running it on console... but I have to say, up until now, I've been quite pleasantly surprised how smooth it actually turned out to be. So I won't be quitting playing it anytime soon. 👍🙂

Dying to a hidden player. Fine. Dying to random starvation. Fine but frustrating. Dying to glitching zombies, terrain or animations. Makes people want to quit more than anything else.

I love the game, but I am trash. Having said that, the biggest reason I don't play and you mentioned it is the time factor. Like today, I plan on gaming all day and was gonna play Cyberpunk 2077, but now, after your video, I want to play DayZ.
