Helpful except the sorting part did not work and it also did not change it in your example. Users need to make sure they have selected the field they want to sort in the Data pane and then go up to 'Column Tools' and select 'Sort by column' and select the order field

I tried this but get error message saying, There can't be more than one value in customsortorder(column) for the same value in 'columntobesorted'. I have unique values in customsortordercolumn. However in original table the columntobesorted will appear many times and hence the customsortorder values too. Please choose a different column for sorting or update the data in 'customsortorder'. Please guide if I am missing on anything.

In the second example the chart is a different sort order from the legend and other list.

Thanks for the video! Very Helpful! I am hoping you can help me with another formatting problem. How can I format my column chart to evenly distribute the columns across the X axis? I have the data returning the top 10, in descending order. However, all the columns are touching each other, squished in the middle of the chart. This is leaving a lot of blank space on each side of the chart.

Sorting This way is not applicable when using "Direct Query" Mode. How to do when using Direct Query.

I have done but we need to hide the sorting number column from table/Chart by done width of column to zero/font color to white. This is just some work around solution.
