I m in college my college is teaching me both language so what should i do

*pythone: highLevelPrograming lang . general level scripting/ iDE:pyCharm/Appl: backEnd- gamedev- ML -AI -dataScience_have great libraries, easy to understand syntax .EASE OF USE.
*JS: focus on webDevelopment & backEnd Dev.

Everything he said is totally right, but from the perspective of web development. Javascript is widely used for front back end in Web Dev . But python is applicable for Ml dl ai ds backend and many more .

Python can be used in both backend using Flask/Django & frontend using PyScript.
Along with that Python can be used in AI/ML related applications.
Python is most widely used in cloud computing, cybersecurity & data science too.
Also in game development after C.

Learn both at a time give noon time to JS and night time to Python . Both are kind of similar but function wise javascript is little up cus its a scripting language.
