Autel EVO 2 Range Test to 0% Power - How Far Will it Go? (Will it CRASH?!)

Have you found anything with longer range? I've seen where DJI Air 2S supposedly has over 7 mile range but no range test ever makes it half that far that I've seen. Even if it could, I dont feel like the batteries would make it. Maybe Autel will be my next investment.

They really copied every aspect of DJIs app and features. Are they owned by the same company?

Thanks a bunch for all the stuff you have covered over the years. Your videos have helped me buy at least 3 drones. Dji mavic ext. Keep up the great work. My favorite video is the 4g modem flight on the parrot.

Wow it's actually expensive! At this point I'd consider the Mavic 3 to be more worth the splurge.

Opinions are divided about the image quality but I dont really see how it's a strength of Autel. To be fair, I personally think DJI wins in that criteria.

If you launch it on a mountain does it count the elevation of the mountain against its elevation limit? IE: I launch it on a mountain peak at 5k feet, does it prevent me from operating if it's ceiling is less than that?

I have a DJI Mini 2 and about 13000 feet distance was the max I could get flying from a hillside like you did. The battery ran low and it auto returned. In town with trees and buildings about one mile is the max. With the Geofencing forget even be able to start it near an airport.

What kind of range can you get on average flying in a town or city with only one and two story buildings?

It is correct that the Evo 2 does not have Geofencing?

Trying to see the strengths of Evo especially since it has been levelling up its game lately but range and motor strength still questionable for me till now

why is this drone so slow? It is supposed to do 45 mph. Most range test are doing just over 20 mph.

I'm not going to lie the video quality on the evo looks a little washed out. Is that settings related?

Totally impressed with this drone from your reviews it looks to me better than the DJI

The emergency landing feature stinks. And why in the world won't they let you run the battery down to 3.3. for emergency situations. :-(

I’d like to see any drone make it from where you normally launch to the coast , maybe having someone else there to get it.. because for sure no stock quadcopter, as of now , would make it back. I did think the evo 2 would have the best chance. Maybe dji will make a 45 minute flight drone next (Mavic 3) and then it could do a complete round trip

DUSTIN! You should make a 3 column table with the top 3-5 range drones. Fimi X8SE 2020/ Evo 2 hold the , I THINK... not 100% sure. A chart should show any time a new record is achieved! People want to know who holds the record, and who is gunning for it! I ordered an E2P 6K V2 and Pre-ordered a V2 Smart(er) Controller HOT 🔥 STUFF, and V2 is supposed to improve range! This was really interesting to watch as an EVO 1 owner :-) . I'm wondering two things 1) is the blue range circle dynamic i.e. does it take wind direction and strength data into account 2) Your great range might be as a result of lower radio interference in what looks to be a rural setting?

Any help would be great...

I have the Evo 2 pro 8k and I'm not get anything like you in distance. I keep getting the alert that it keeps losing signal and I have to keep playing with the antennas. What's your trick. I'm going to go out flying again in the morning to see what I can get again

Great video! I can only assume that you are provided with UAV's from manufacturers as promotion to test, and if not, you are much braver than I would be pushing the limits like that. I would never have gone past the 3 mile mark, let alone 5. (We have so much wi-fi interference here that it would be laughable to even attempt.) I would also worry about being fined by the FAA for violating Part 107 rules so blatantly.

How high were you flying it. I saw 57.2 on the screen can you explain that how high were you ? thanks

You are absolutely right about the gimble. It is actively keeping the camera level throughout the flight, these drones move around quite a bit when at altitude. so moving the pitch up and down will not effect the battery at all.

One very big practical application of this is in doing hyperlapse videos. You burn up a lot of battery doing a longer hyperlapse. It's good to know that the drone has the battery capacity to make it back home after doing a 20+ second waypoint hyperlapse.
