Invent a religion so you don't have to tell your friends they smell.
ОтветитьRussian orthodox church baptised babies around day eight from birth, and they are not clothed, maybe except panties - don't know. Adults yearly celebrate Jesus's Baptism by winter immersion into cross-shaped cuts in river ice, now done in underwear and then dry with towels, may follow with hot tea or a steam bath. In Judaism mikvah is an indoor pool for ritual cleansing, for example after periods in women. Mikvah must have some connection to natural water. In modern practice before immersion people take a shower.
ОтветитьYet another reason why baptism in a physical form is unnecessary for salvation.
ОтветитьAnd all of it is useless. It will be a better world when people stop believing the utter nonsense of religions (all of them). Religion has caused enough harm to humanity.
ОтветитьYa in Muslim country we do it every week fully naked and it has got lot of rules
ОтветитьIt’s also likely that many different forms of baptism were all practiced separately at once. History is not a neat line with segmented chapters like a book. Pages often overlap.
Vsauce btw
I'd start going to church if they started baptizing in the nude again
ОтветитьGosh darn liberals always skinny dippin for God
Ответитьin Catholic church, that is (I assume). in the orthodox church, when baptising babies, they take their clothes off first, and fully submerge them. that's what happens here in greece, at least.
Ответитьthat makes more sense actually 🫤
ОтветитьIdk some babie still done naked
ОтветитьSo... Did women have to be bare to get baptized? During that time? Wasn't it immoral for the ancient ladies?
ОтветитьBrub here in Greece we are Baptisted naked I was and everyone else is and also from a very small age
ОтветитьKind of misses the point.
ОтветитьPretty interesting how myths change over time .
ОтветитьI can't wait until religion is a guffaw of the past.
Ответитьas a christian orthodox we get baptized as babies, naked and they dunk our entire body in the water 3 times
ОтветитьIn a Jewish mikveh you go fully nude even removing any scabs so the purifying water will be in contact with your whole body
ОтветитьSo beneath this guy's shirt, he's body looks like a shirt😮
ОтветитьI don't think we want to let the christian priests be near naked children
Ответитьits the one time where being naked in church would make sense..
Ответить😢
ОтветитьThe mikvah
ОтветитьSeeing as they replaced the bris milah 'circumcision', ritual with a baptism ritual, getting a thorough bath was a small price to pay rather than having their weenus cut and sucked off by a' butcher (mohel).
ОтветитьEvery summer, I go camping by the Potomac river. The water is warm, and incredible to be in. Having recited the Nicene Creed every week as a young Catholic... "we acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins"... one of the first things I like to do is submerge myself continually in the Potomac, all while saying to myself, "We acknowledge many baptisms for the forgiveness of sins."
ОтветитьIt’s rooted in paganism
ОтветитьRomans of all people? Really?
ОтветитьI baptise myself 597 times while swimming.
I must've washed off all my sins!
Oh my God bro you're the only one I can trust right now everyone keeps not blowing it the negative and I have to literally yell at them you're the only one I can trust right now because you're blurring it I got to go yell at other things by
ОтветитьI just seen this thing online where this dude broke into church church and baptized hisself
ОтветитьYou are talking about catholics I suppose, right? Because in orthodox christians it is common that people are baptised as infants, and yes, they are always naked.
ОтветитьI got baptized almost naked. Half naked. I just kept my underwear on. But no. Nothing kinky. Nothing at all. In a pool. On the contrary it was a glorious day. Coming out of the water covered in water. I felt immersed in the purity of my new nature in Jesus. I was focused on the Lord. And not on kinky stuff.
Ответить✝️🙏💖 GOD BLESS EVERYONE! 💖🙏✝️
ОтветитьLourdes has entered the chat...
ОтветитьUnpop. opinion: self-admin’d baptisms are actually a good idea
ОтветитьI have a cute story. My father used to live in Washington state. He found a whole bunch of little turquoise New Testaments somewhere, put them in his car and would have them out to Hitchhiker's. He wants picked up a tall young man with red hair and gave him one. Took him to his destination. A couple years later, we visited friends in Reno. Dad was telling his best friend about this man he gave the Testament to. His friend picks up and says, you taking his boys camping just outside of Reno, and heard splashing just over the hill. He went to investigate and there was a tall young man with red hair holding a turquoise Testament, standing out in the lake, splashing himself with water while reading the little Testament. My father's friend with the pastor. He went down ask him what he was doing. The man says that the Bible says that he should be baptized so that's what he was doing. So my father's friend offered to do it for him. My father in Washington let him to the Lord. His best friend in Nevada, baptized him. No one until that day we visited nkew just how connected these men were.
ОтветитьI wonder if a plague had anything to do with a speeding up up baptism services?
Wait is plague the reason babies are baptized?
I remember that scrubbing tradition for some reason.
ОтветитьThis is what happens when you take Bible out of context. It’s happening since centuries and only some have continued to follow it in its original sense.
Wait, all these different people from different geographies were doing something or the other which they over heard, or directly heard or heard thru some third party about the Bible and had their own versions. This only makes the fact that Bible is true, stronger.
Rituals are living symbols. A living symbol is stronger than an graven image, or even the word. Baptism invokes dissociation in the psyche. This may seem healthy but ultimately it's unauthentic and just fantasy, disallowing the victim from running their own life and being truthful and authentic, for the "greater good", wich history shows us ain't so darned great after all. Oops.
ОтветитьIf it’s have changed a lot that means it’s not the right religion
ОтветитьJohn the Baptist is just teaching people how to take a bath until Jesus arrived.
ОтветитьThat’s a new one foe me 😮
ОтветитьNon-baptised and proud, non-baptised gang reveal yourselves ✊
ОтветитьNaked makes sense since we're born naked and baptism is our spiritual rebirth...
ОтветитьSeeing protestant baptisms is always very weird to me. Like, why do you have a whole pool.
ОтветитьI know a group that does a triple self dunk
ОтветитьThe word “baptize” didn’t even exist in the English language until the KJV translators compromised with the Anglican Church.
ОтветитьThe Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo church baptizes people naked.
ОтветитьMy how times have changed.
