Thanks so much for letting us build this course!!! Hope it helps some folks. The technical skills are only half the battle (that doesn't mean you can skimp on em tho)
ОтветитьThanks so much. I got my first dev job 2 years ago but the company went under in December and have had no luck getting another job with 2 YOE and no degree. Haven't even gotten to a technical interview yet. Just ghosted after the the screening interview.
ОтветитьI have a tip for this don’t be a software developer
Ответитьtldw: git gud
ОтветитьHow can i land a web dev job with just html and css? Still learning JS. Hoping to find a Landing Page job or anything that only require html and css for now.
Ответить1 great project >>>> 3/4 normal projects
Do projects that are not necessary complex but need to be unique af.
Solve a real problem (even if it is small).
Put effort in coming up with a good title, simple description and strong motivation.
Specific Knowledge > Generic
Saying I know 1/2 languages is better than mentioning all the languages you know.
Useless
ОтветитьI dont have a CS degree but have engineering degree with good mathematical and coding background. I have 3 years of app development experience and still got no response from jobs in Europe. (I am not in EU). How one can do more I am in confusion..
ОтветитьThis is more a podcast than a course and a very enjoyable one
ОтветитьAwesome video
ОтветитьKnow someone
ОтветитьThe resume advice seems to go against a lot of what I hear regarding engineer resumes 🤔
ОтветитьThis is really good. Thanks!
ОтветитьTbh, I lost my faith on finding a job in this field. It’s been over 1 year after I graduated from the boot camp where I paid bunch of money and thought that would change my future. I lost all my saving money to create a better future and got nothing. Idk, maybe I’m very depressed right now but I’m done with hoping for sure 😢
ОтветитьSo hilarious to listen to people whine on here about it being "impossible" to get hired nowadays. CS graduates are still getting first jobs in the field faster, and are generally employed in the field of study at a substantially higher rate than any other STEM discipline or any major for that matter. There is luck to it, and there are problems in the industry hiring practices, but if you're not getting hired for more than a 6 months after graduation you should really do some introspection. However, if you think you can get hired without an accredited degree, yeah, just forget about it.
ОтветитьI got in by going help desk > technical administration > systems admin > now software developer with very little training or projects . Just basic hmtl css and some c# . ...
ОтветитьYou don't. You go and get other job type.
ОтветитьBut all the tech jobs are in Lehi, which is right next to AF.
ОтветитьThe name….
ОтветитьLinkedIn? Haha good luck with that
ОтветитьThank you for this video!
I have 4 years of experience and I can tell this is gold!
I made a Wordpress template single page site for a lady who works at an accelerator for 1200. A couple weeks later she suggested me as a software engineer to a startup looking to grow their team. That was my lucky break into tech landed a 50 an hr junior dev roll sometimes it’s just complete luck because I still don’t feel prepared but I’m trying my hardest to catch up before they fire me 😫
ОтветитьThis is the very first freeCodeCamp video I actually finished
ОтветитьI am graduated for 10 months still find a job, I think this will help me, if anyone offer a job, please give me a LinkedIn job post link, my this channel has shorts that automatically generated and uploaded from the python script i created. (you can take it as my project) appreciate. thank you.
ОтветитьThis is gold. The video is full of good and interesting advices not only for entry-level developers, but for experienced developers too. Though I've been coding for a long time developing dozens of websites from my tiny company, I'm having a hard time finding new clients and projects, so I'm gonna put in good use some of the tactics said here. Thank you and happy coding. :)
ОтветитьWhat an amazing video. If people wondering if these tips work. Yes, some of the things mentioned here are what helped me land my first job. If I had this video when I was looking, I would of probably landed my first job even quicker. Lots of actionable things here.
ОтветитьThank you so much to all participants
ОтветитьI have programming experience ~8 yes, but I never knew that I could use all my dumb programs as actual experience / projects. I'm about to center my resume & projects around AI stuff now 😮😮
ОтветитьThanks so much for this Beau !
ОтветитьI'm in the same situation as the example of the guy who graduated more than a year ago and doesn't have a job. I graduated in the middle of the pandemic and I couldn't get a job so I continued with my normal job and after a few months I stopped applying for jobs and the worst thing was that I stopped studying. I regret it a lot and now I'm making up for wasted time reviewing everything I did and learning what I should. The challenge will be to have this bachelor's degree on my resume, which increasingly increases the time without job experience.
little experience writing in English
The amount of "Jr" listings I see that ask for 5+yrs of experience is insane.
ОтветитьI need a course on How to stay in a job, even in this economy 😅
ОтветитьSpotify and Twitter clones are considered simple 😫? I'm building a Twitter clone and the SQL queries alone are driving me up the wall due to their complexity 😭😭i.e. retweets, replies, replies of replies, likes, did the authenticated user like the given post? Plus wanting to do all this in one query coz I've heard that's more performant.
ОтветитьThis is gold. I really appreciate this.
Ответитьso you mean without CS degree ....no job?
Ответитьjust saw the first chapter ,I really enjoyed and got a lot of information. will complete it soon enough. thanks for such awesome content
Ответить🤟
