Oh in containment they continue to have the disease. I’ve encountered this too.

I believe the fish still appearing with the kahraa every once in a while is maybe some type of glitch or something, but I like to make it my own little head cannon that while we attempted to cure the kharraa, a new strain mutated which lives in symbiosis with the host, causing the tell tale signs of the disease to emerge, but overall not harm the creature in any way
