PreSonus Studio Channel Tube Upgrade Tung-Sol Gold

I' rather buy 200 dollar tubes to make sure the quality changes, going cheap isn't worth it...premium tubes will really make a difference...

So with any Tung-sol work for this peramp? Cause im going to get the Tung-sol gold & dose the help far as better compression?

I have the tube channel strip, just got it and it had a JJ tube in it, listen to that for about an hour then put a Golden Lion premium long plate 12 X 7 in it. It's been burning in for only a few hours but I can already hear the difference! Golden line was definitely worth the money!!!

hi im using a digidesign mbox 2 with a presonus studio channel and its making a constant very loud crackling/poping sound do you think it might be the tube?

Really nice video, thanks for making it. I tried the Tung-Sol 12AX7/ECC803S GOLD PINS in my PreSonus Studio Channel and I didn't have the same results. I did a few recordings with each tube. The line noise was the same and I lost gain with the Tung-Sol. I put the old tube back in.

Great videos! I have a Presonus Tubepre v2 and purchased an old RCA tube that was a waste of 30 bucks. What tube would you recommend? Same one as the ones in this video? Thank you

Hello, I'm a recent subscriber and love your videos. You're my home studio mentor whether you know it or not, so before I ask my question thanks in advance for taking the time to post these videos. I have the same mixer that you do and just recently bought a computer capable  of running firewire and then got the card for that. So now I'm finally recording with up to 16 channels of seperations at once. I've noticed that your running preamps and I was curious as to why? Is it just a preference or do they make that much of a differnece. I've heard a lot of guys say that these type of outside plug ins are becomming obsolete due to the built in effects in the DAW. So what are your thoughts, and are the preamps your using primarily for vocals. Also what's the purpose of using Capture and the VST. I find them to be redundant. I've settled on just record and dealing directly with Studio One. Thanks

Hi, can you tell me, does the tube light up when it's on? I recently got one and the vu meter doesn't light up and neither does the tube. I was just wondering if I might need to replace the tube and it would fix the problem. Thanx

UPDATE: After a few weeks and a number of sessions using my Studio Channels with the upgraded tubes I continue to be impressed.   Vocals are much silkier/smoother, tone is warmer and no more cracking.  Acoustic guitar recordings sound clear and warm too. Definitely glad I did this.

Just bought my Studio Channel 2 days ago and only had a quick test with my SM58 and it sounds AWSOME! 
I have ART TPS II Tube amp, which I thought was good, but this one sounds much better.
I'll wait till out of warranty till I replace the tube. Thanks for the tip.

I have a PreSonus TUBEPreV2.  I may consider a tube upgrade.
