Honestly, captcha solutions are rubbish and no practical solution to spam unless you're okay with driving away visitors/customers from your website. They are extremely annoying and frequently misidentify legitimate users as "high risk" users, meaning they haven't built a creepy social profile on them!

Isn't it possible to have the option to include something like a quiz based question type which will no let the form be submitted unless a correct answer has been input? This way site owners can easily ask questions related to their service that only a human will be able to answer correctly (for now).

Also, a built-in "honey trap" method may also be useful.

I don't like Recaptcha v3. For it to work discreetly it gathers info on how the user interacts with the website and it loads sitewide to do that. So it slows your site on pages you don't need it on. After I decided not to use it and removed it from the module, and disabled it in the Google dashboard, the recaptcha JavaScript code still continues to be loaded on every page. I have no idea how to stop it loading. Right now I have to use a plugin to unload it. It also has a modal / badge it shows at all times on the side of the page which is annoying. If you care about design and user experience it doesn't seem worth it. Would rather just deal with a bit of spam and leave the user alone. Subsequently I'm also having an issue now where the contact form hangs for a few seconds on submit before it redirects to the success page. The user can't tell if their email has sent. This didn't happen before so I suspect it's a related issue.
