Interesting. I finally won’t have to share a cubicle designed for 1 with 3 other people. I like it
ОтветитьThis just in ; How coronavirus affects the cost of pencils.
ОтветитьTo me (and I've argued this for years), if your work basically involves a computer (usually a company laptop nowadays), a phone, an intranet, and meetings (often done on the intranet anyway) there is absolutely NO REASON to be in the office 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month. I personally find I get work done far more efficiently, feeling way less drained at the end of the day when I'm doing distance working. Generally speaking, even before COVID getting work done early in the morning, and saving a couple afternoons/evenings/days during the week to come in for meetings. Don't need to be any particular place to work on spreadsheets and powerpoints.
ОтветитьOffices are literally pointless. Why are people sitting at desks typing, answering phones, and crowded together? Every single thing people do in an office can be automated or done from home.
ОтветитьA few years ago, the company I work for decided to move all the developers downstairs. So, we packed up our desks and went down to the new space. Seems it was basically a basically a "manager's office" in a larger room; a cordoned off office for one manager. So, we had to play developer Tetris to fit 5-6 developers into an office made for one person. To make things worse, the HVAC system in there is broken. During the spring/fall, the heat is always on, and the temps can hit 90-95. And little to no air circulation.
With this virus now, I won't be returning to that office environment. It is literally a petri dish for contagion.
plexi glass must be as expencive as gold now..?
ОтветитьJoke's on you I already have a copy of Office Space.
