Can you explain what you mean by saying the Quest 2 can't play certain games? Does SteamVR check your headset and just not let you play certain games with certain headsets?

i love my index. will use it until it breaks and i have no way of repairing it.
yes i gave 3500 zloty for it (around 800 dollars) yes its resolution is not amazing. but everything else is just so good, i love it. if there is anything else i would recommend instead it would be psvr2.
quest 3/3s is a nice more budget oriented option but i was always a PC guy and while you can use the quest on PC, it feels more like an afterthought. compression, for one, is something i've heard of a lot.

To the (new coming) VR enthusiasts who are hesitating out there, there is no universal headsets that beat every other headsets on every single criteria. You have to write down what you want the most and choose based of which criteria you value more, depending on what you intend to do with it:

- Type of panels (LCD, OLED, etc.)
- Type of lenses (Fresnel, pancakes, aspheric, etc.)
- Included audio?
- Type of tracking (base station/lighthouse based, or
- Wired or wireless?
- Standalone?
- Weight (do you want a brick on the face or something as light as possible)
- Microphone(s) if you need to speak (VRChat?)
- How reliable is customer service if the headset breaks?
Etc.

I started with an OG Vive. Upgraded to a Vive Pro because I wanted better OLED resolution. Returned the Vive Pro 2, because although the resolution was amazing, I wanted those deep black so I returned to the Vive Pro even though it still had some screen-door effect.

Eventually upgraded to the Bigscreen Beyond with LOTS of hesitation. Gave up some field of view and sweet spot but greatly improved resolution and much lighter headset.

But that's me. That's what I like. You should make your own research when buying, and take your time.

To buy in 2024 headset which requires cameras around the house plain stupid, it's old technology and you never need that precision in games, quest 3 your pick today and psvr ok

WMR always sucked massively. I have an HP Reverb g2 which I still think is one of the best overall for me. Cannot believe microsoft is ending support, but I hate microsoft anyways. I just cant believe the little progress since Oculus Rift. Base stations are critical if you are on your PC. Its the only way to get perfect tracking. I am ready to upgrade from the reverb g2 and do PC stuff as I film 3d and need the best quality. It looks like the Pimax Crystal Light is the way to go. I really hate inside out tracking, but I guess I can fork over another $550 to get that if I need it, but come on, why are these controllers and base stations massively expensive.

And no word about face tracking. Nice video, but kinda incomplete because there are people who want have face tracking.
You have not even Quest Pro in home, so you have no much experience with it.
I have Q2, Q3, older Pico4 and Quest Pro.

PSVR2 has better blacks, colours, binocular overlap and the lowest possible latency and 0 compression.

With VR Wire you can significantly reduce the cable issue and still get lossless high frame rate and resolution gaming.

VoodooDE is right, the Quest 3 is great but he didn’t give the PSVR2 PCVR via PC Adapter a fair review here.

Check out MartyVR’s video for another comparison.

I feel like you never touched upon each HMD's company's support quality and software ease of use, I probably just missed it.

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding between the quest 3 and PSVR2 for PCVR. I watched your video on it recently but I am still undecided T_T

The quest 3 seems like a better headset overall, but I feel like the compression on PCVR could ruin the experience quite a bit. Not to mention the OLED displays in the PSVR2, which are pretty important for me since I really hate backlight bleed on LCD screens. The PSVR2 is also much cheaper than the quest at the moment, and there's less add-ons you need to buy to make it better. Then again, the quest has some really nice features and is constantly getting updated. The controllers on the quest 3 also look way more comfortable than on the PSVR2. Then there's the quest exclusive games too,,,,

Decisions are hard :(
