How do I reprogram the fob if I don’t have a key for the door? The thing you pulled from the fob doesn’t fit in my door but fits perfectly in the glove box where the air bags are… (that goes for both of the fobs)

Nice! My car was unlocked so my issue wasn’t getting into the car but locking it. All I had to do was follow your steps and insert the key into door, lock the car then open with unlock button on fob. Legend!

Your method didn’t work at all but i found very similar way and that one did the trick for me.

'Cycle' (turn) the key clockwise and counter-clockwise. Doing this locked and unlocked the car and the sidelights flashed as they normally do as if I clicked the fob to lock the doors.
• Keeping the key in the door, now use the keyfob, to lock & unlock the car.
• The keyfob should now be working!

I have the same problem. The light on the fob is blinking when i press the buttons but nothing happens. Have tried everything and still nothing. I scanned the key and it shows it's transmitting but no lock/unlock works. Battery is new.

Thank you. It worked on a 2013 Passat that we were working on. The car was brought in so we could work on something else that was wrong with it, then the damn thing wouldn't turn on afterwards because of this stupid key crap. I hate these types of fucking keys with fobs and shit.

I have a 2013 passat tdi sel. I have somehow managed to lock my fob IN my car TWICE. Thought it wasn't suppose to be able to do that???? My real question is this: I had to get a new car battery and now my remote start won't work. I cam unlock and lock doots just not remote start. Can I reprogram that,?

Im having all sorts of issues with key fob boot will pop up once in a moon lock and unlock depends on the mood 🥴 so if l pull out the small key and follow your steps everything will reset and work as new?

You just saved me like 500 bucks. I had to turn the key to unlock it, and while holding it to unlock, press the unlock button on my key. I can lock the car using the physical key, but I can't unlock it without using the button on the key. Everything works now! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!!! My battery on my key fob stopped working and I put a new battery but it still wouldn’t lock or unlock and I didn’t even know my car had a key unlock on the door! Stuck it in there and it reprogrammed the key fob and now everything works thanks!!

For me worked like this : press middle button.. open trunk (it was raining) and there i have pull out battery or the remote key and wait 1 minutes.. then put it back and worked.. also i have changed the battery after that.. with the key plastic that u put inside in door.. was not worked to open the door..but after that operation that i did it worked the remote and the key plastic in the door .. sorry i hope i make myself understandable.. English it's not my primary language ! 🤭😂👍🍻

Hi thanks for the video, I’ve tried what you suggested in the video but I’m still having the problem, basically my key will not lock,unlock or pop the boot. I can place the key in the ignition to start the car but when I remove the key the ignition stays on and doesn’t turn off. The problem only happened recently as it all worked perfectly before.

I really need some help as it’s draining my car battery and leaving me stranded .

Hello Adnan,my remote key distance is only 1 meter,how can I increase that on my vw cc 2013,please give me a help!! I have also replaced the battery with a new one but it still opetates in 1 meter!!The second key works fine and responds at about 30 meters. If you know something give a solution, thank you.

What a life saver... but I set the alarm off and then soon as put the key in the alarm stopped and the key was re programmed.🤣👍

Try very very hard to only if emergency use that plastic key for popping off door handle cover or fuse boxes. Flat head screw driver is best if available. One day your key may break off in car door like mine. Because mine broke. Those keys are plastic and very very fragile so don't use for all that. then it may break off in future when just trying to reprogram fob.
