But was Fergie sexualized?
ОтветитьThis is a beautiful story I was touched and very happy for you. Success and happiness is different for everyone and you have truly OWNED IT your way ❤
ОтветитьBen, I can only say, what an excellent documentary -- as with the others. This is the finest storytelling possible. The tone, content and rhythm of your films is superlative. In this one, Kim Hill adds by being such an engaging storyteller herself. The other films I've seen in this series (e.g., the one on the Liverbirds) are also superlative. Thank you so much for making these!
ОтветитьAnyway she contributed a lot to the best BEP album in their carreer.
ОтветитьQue fuerte esta mujer. Con mucho talento y no acepto ser un objeto sexual.
ОтветитьI'm proud of you!!!!!
ОтветитьKim Hills voice tho... ohhh goosebumps. Even her speaking voice.
ОтветитьWell, we all have a choice, a sacrifice and regrets 🤦🤦🤔🤔
ОтветитьI never knew black eyes was just men and that fervor wasn’t the original
ОтветитьFor what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?
Stay Strong and Stay Blessed.
what a kind person
ОтветитьWhy is it all zoomed in
Ответить'I have my happy!' Beautiful and I'm happy for her!
ОтветитьMagnifique vidéo 👍
ОтветитьHow sad and disappointing that the guys didn't stand up for her. They sold her out for money. They weren't the ones who had to change. They were okay with execs demanding that she changed to sexualizing her person. She wanted to rise with integrity, but not surprisingly, the men around her wouldn't allow her to.
ОтветитьI could watch this video a million times over !!! ❤
Ответить“The hook” is the first phrase that caught my attention in this short clip. “What’s a hook”?, I asked myself. Did I really know. Can April write a hook? Does writing a hook matter? What does matter?
The next important concept in this video is when she said “ they worked very hard. They deserved it.”
Certainly working hard is required .
Belief in greater things and the greatness inside ourselves is also required, or else how could one possibly commit the energy it takes…
When they came out, everyone could sense the incredible energy, veracity, commitment and organisation that went into creating The Black Eyed Peas. You could hear it in their music.
This woman regrets that she was so very close to making it, and would have given anything if she could have only known the success the black eyed peas would enjoy.
I think we are all this close, and none of us can see successes lurking just around the corner…
Of course, there are those who give up and give in way too late and burn their lives away holding on for that possible hint of success, but there are also those who never give their all, thinking that they did. There are also those who play video games, basketball, darts or surf for fun, but not for excellence, and mistake instant gratification for excellence.
At this point in my life, I can see it is silly for anyone not to take the leap into excellence.
It’s also silly to take the leap unprepared, thinking you have talent when you don’t or can’t commit oneself to the work necessary, but I’ve learned the talent isn’t in the voice. The talent is in the writing of the music, but more essentially, the talent is in the writing of the story, the day to day, week to week and life story, and passionately believing enough in that story to commit to acting it out every hour and every day.
Writing this “lecture” to my adult children, takes passion, belief and most importantly effort. It takes having done the work ahead of time, so as to sound authentic. It takes the courage of disregarding whether or not I am seen as foolish even with the knowledge that all might not bother to Read my silly ramblings. Those who do read might not understand what I’m saying, those who understand probably won’t act on it. Those who act on it probably still won’t make it, but those whom have tried and given their very best, will have many successes in life…
It’s better to have tried and given your all and failed, than never to have tried…
❤ She was so entertaining to watch!! Wishing her all the best and success 🙏🏾
Ответитьrespect to you , real beauty
ОтветитьThe editor of this video is arguably the best editor in the world! The amount of audio layers on this is so subtle yet powerful.
ОтветитьBlack people use racism on everything like white people use MAYO! 😂
ОтветитьI absolutely love this woman’s energy. I would love to have a friend like this
Ответитьfirst time watching this documentary. I saw an instagram video clip for B.E.P's "What It Is" with a caption about why Kim left the group (pre-Behind The Front & Bridging The Gap). Salute to Kim for staying solid 💯
ОтветитьShes so beautiful
ОтветитьBlack Eyed Peas have been very quiet since this dropped
ОтветитьShe’s an amazing storyteller!!
ОтветитьRespect yourself!❤️👌
ОтветитьLoved this so much ❤️
ОтветитьThis woman is pure class.
ОтветитьIm glad that the management thought that and you quit. If not, BEP will not be successful or Fergie will not be one of them
Ответитьwhat a film, what a person!
ОтветитьIs so sad how the industry tried to make her more promiscuous to people she treated as family and she stood her ground
ОтветитьZa mě Behind The Front nejlepší album a nejkrásnější ženský hlas ❤❤❤
ОтветитьNothing but respect for her.
ОтветитьThanks @benproudfoot1409. Saw Kim Hill perform at the Jazz Cafe in London when BEP had recently hit the headlines and the feelings were so fresh. This is an epic doc..
ОтветитьA real one. Beautiful inside and out. Honest genuine and talented. Wild how this popped up. Didn’t intend to peep and grateful I did.
ОтветитьI remember her well. I dont consider myself the biggest BEP fan but ive known there music since the 90's and beyond. I always wondered what happened to her. Great story. And such a positive person.
ОтветитьHearing Kim on Joints and Jams was surreal dopest singing fr
ОтветитьI’m sure she has regrets! Maybe this the narrative she created to help her move forward. Just my opinion.
ОтветитьBeautiful story
ОтветитьWeird to call Fergie white though. She's half white, half Mexican. Would someone call Obama white?
ОтветитьKadın, kimse hakkında olumsuz bir şey söylememekle birlikte, gruptan haklı nedenlerle ayrılan bir birey olarak pişmanlık duymaması gerçekten müthiş. Şu an yeryüzünde tanıdığım en saygıdeğer hanımefendilerden biridir.
ОтветитьWhat i love about this woman is that she stayed real with herself and her goals. I applaud her for staying loyal to herself.
ОтветитьRespect ❤❤❤
ОтветитьKim is an amazing person. The way she addressed the elephant in the room - Fergie - was deep, mature, and evidence of a person who has healed.
ОтветитьWow when the truth can hurt.🤕😎
ОтветитьGreat !!
ОтветитьHey, everybody. I’m Ben, the filmmaker and creator of the ALMOST FAMOUS series. Happy to answer any questions!
