Looks Great, Easy to See and has the Strength You Need
ОтветитьYou do not need a leader
ОтветитьFish can't see color
ОтветитьI know I'm wrong. But I never understood why anglers are so concerned about a fish seeing a tiny little less than a millimeter thick line but not concerned at all about the fish seeing the comparatively gigantic metal hooks dangling from the lure.
ОтветитьThe only way to do it, I only use straight braid if I’m frogging, but I use this seat up for Texas rig, Senkos, Flipping and pitching everything
ОтветитьThe next big innovation in line will be the elimination of knots between braid and fluorocarbon and use of a bonding agent and/or a small micro sleeve each line end can feed into and be sealed with heat or epoxy to bond the two lines together. People hate tying knots and a good engineer will put an end to the cumbersome knots. I am working on some innovations now to solve this problem.
ОтветитьWhat if you need to change lures?
ОтветитьPerfectly explained! Thank you!
Ответить15 years ago everyone was switching to braid away from fluoro and mono because of the lack of stretch. Now you want some stretch? Sounds like a conspiracy from the plastics industry. 😂
ОтветитьI can’t STAND braid to flouro. No benefit and cant be convinced otherwise.
ОтветитьThx for explaining this. Makes a huge sense. 👍
ОтветитьCheers Mate.
Ответитьhow long of a leader do you use
can you use monno
if youre using 30lb braid what lb leader should i be using
ОтветитьI don't disagree that these fg knot & others are stronger but I've always tied a uni to uni & never had one fail
ОтветитьGonna watch this one when I have time and leave one of my long winded comments later. Love you….bye now.
ОтветитьI use this on all my baits. I use 20lb braid to 8lb fluoro on all my spinning setups and 30lb braid to 15lb fluoro on my casting setups. My leaders are 10-12 feet long.
ОтветитьI couldn't disagree more. Braid does not last more than a couple weeks. Only way it would last is because your putting the fluoro leader on so the fluoro is taking the beating. If you use straight braid than braid gets eaten up fast.
ОтветитьI’ve got braid on every combo I own. I even got as far as flipping my braid over on the spool. Even crank with braid to leader. Floro is too expensive
ОтветитьWhat is best for crank/jerk baits, spoons etc?
ОтветитьBraid to fluoro everything. FG only leader knot to use
ОтветитьBraid is must have for spinning reels
Ответитьgreat info, well presented - thanks!
ОтветитьCurious is there a problem with the knot hanging up when used on a casting rod or just need to tie a short 2 ft leader when using a baitcaster.
ОтветитьI have a problem with the knot getting hit on the tops and getting stuck
ОтветитьAlberto knot is best for me when I go braid to fluoro leader .
ОтветитьBraid to fluoro till I die lol, freshwater saltwater anything it don’t matter braid to fluoro will do it for ya
ОтветитьOnly way I spool my baitcaster, and spinning reel. Uni to Uni for me. So fast and strong
Ответить6 reasons why not to fish braid to leader
1. Weak knots and hard knots to tie consistently
2. More expensive than the alternative even when there are baboons that say otherwise, it's marketing bs
3. Gets shredded on rocks and is terrible in wood
4. Makes a terrible sound when casting and reeling
5. Digs into your spool when drag is tight and catching fish
6. Backlashes can be very hard to get out plus easier to Backlash
7. Floats, poor presentation for bottom lures (that's why you where tieing a knot right?
8. Learn to actually detect bites.....
9. Not to mention it kills your guides on your rod.....
another plus of braid is if u do happen to get a backlash, 9 times out of 10 u can pick it out with braid. with flouro or mono might as well get to cutting
ОтветитьTook a little practice to learn the FG Knot for my topwater and spinning setups. Get much more feel and transmitting to the blank is what got me to another level.
ОтветитьI use braid to a fluorocarbon leader on any bait just about… it’s an awesome technique
ОтветитьAll good points! Have to admit I've drunken the KoolAid and am one to this too.
ОтветитьThe biggest reason I use braid to leader on baitcasters is cost. Fluorocarbon is just too expensive
ОтветитьHow about plastic swim baits ?
ОтветитьFG knot all the way baby. All that the companies need to do is make floating braid and braid that sinks like Fluoro now so the baits can stay in line like they would with straight fluoro. My only gripe about braid is that with subsurface baits it gets a big bow. It also isn’t sensitive on slack line.
ОтветитьI use straight braid on everything and haven't ever had any problems. Fish don't care about the line. If you are scared they gonna make that one last run at the boat just loosen the drag a little bit or have the right action rod so it keeps the hooks pinned and you won't have nothing to worry about.
